Continuity mistake: Near the end, Robert and Jimmy are at an outdoor cafe, drinking coffee; Robert raises up his cup, but, in the next shot, the cup is down again, on the table.

Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the film, Richard Gere, with the help of his grandchildren, blows out the candles on his birthday cake. 3 candles are still lit, then suddenly extinguished.

Continuity mistake: Three-quarters into the film, Richard Gere is in the main bedroom, alone. He picks up the phone, makes a call, then doesn't put the phone in the cradle, but when he turns, the phone is in the cradle, and he picks it up to make another call.

Continuity mistake: In the scene near the end of the movie where Ellen Miller asks Robert Miller to lift up his shirt, and then slaps him in the stomach with a newspaper, we see that his right shoulder suspender is properly positioned, however in the next shot from behind him his suspender over his right shoulder appears to be twisted 180 degrees. As he turns to walk into the inner bedroom the suspender is once again back to a proper fit.
