Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2

Plot hole: One of Snape's memories show Lily telling baby Harry to be safe, be strong. That had to have occurred before Voldemort killed Lily. Snape was not in the house until after Lily was killed and Voldemort was gone. Only Lily and Harry should have had that memory, but not Snape.

Continuity mistake: When Voldemort kills Lily, she is wearing a sweater with high neck, long sleeves and it's red. When Snape comes in the room and sees Lily dead on the floor, she is wearing a blue blouse.

Plot hole: Immediately after the confrontation between Harry/McGonagall and Snape in the Great Hall, Harry runs up to Ravenclaw tower against crowds of students running the opposite direction. However, all the students would have been in the Great Hall during that confrontation, and therefore would have been coming from the same direction as Harry.

Visible crew/equipment: During the main Harry and Voldemort duel in the courtyard, there is an aerial shot of the duel, with Voldemort on the left and Harry on the right. Between them, in one of the arches of the alley, a cameraman in black is visible for about one second.

Other mistake: In both the books and the movies, Harry's Invisibility Cloak can always be seen until it is worn. In Diagon Alley, just before the Gringott's break-in, Ron pulls out the cloak to cover Harry and Griphook, but it turns invisible before he puts it on them. Ron merely mimes the motion of covering them.

Continuity mistake: When Harry arrives in Hogsmeade and meets Aberforth Dumbledore, his stubble disappears in one shot and then reappears later in the same scene.

Continuity mistake: When Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Neville are in the Room of Requirement talking to Ginny, Harry's fringe keeps changing style between shots.

Sacha

Continuity mistake: In Snape's flashback Harry's mother, as a child, has brown/black eyes. When she is an adult she has blue eyes.

Continuity mistake: Just after Harry and Lord Voldemort have their altercation in the Forbidden Forest, Neville is seen walking into Hogwarts' courtyard entrance to pick up the sorting hat. In the first shot, there is a camera angle of him from the waist down from behind, and he is stepping over the rubble and having no trouble walking. In the very next shot, you get a full frontal view of him walking, and he is limping and can barely move. (01:38:00)

Continuity mistake: When the students enter the Great Hall, Ginny is seen among them in full uniform. However, when one of the Patil sisters begins screaming, she can be seen in the casual clothing that she was wearing earlier in the Room of Requirement.

Factual error: In the final scene, (19 years later) the aerial shot of Kings Cross station is actually St. Pancras station, which is across the road from Kings Cross.

Other mistake: In Snape's memories, Trelawny's prophecy is the wrong one. If you listen closely you can hear her saying "master shall be reunited once more". That's the prophecy that she told Harry in PoA, not the first prophecy Snape half-overheard Trelawny telling Dumbledore.

Revealing mistake: In the scene where Harry and co. are in the Room of Requirement, at several points during this scene, you can tell by the way the light shines that Harry's glasses are missing their lenses, especially in close up shots of Harry.

Continuity mistake: The pillow behind Griphook constantly moves between shots while the Trio is talking to him at Shell Cottage.

Continuity mistake: During the flashback to young Lily and Severus, while they are lying under a tree, their positions change, specifically the distance between them.

Continuity mistake: Throughout all the movies, the characters discuss several times how much Harry's eyes resemble his mother's. When we see flashbacks of Lily in this movie she has dark brown eyes. In past movies, when she was portrayed as a Hogwarts student, (in most of the same memories) she had blue eyes.

Continuity mistake: After Hermione destroys Helga Huffleluff's cup, the basilisk's skeleton vanishes during the Voldemort tsunami.

Suggested correction: The skeleton could easily been washed away by the tsunami, it was definitely strong enough.

Agreed. The tsunami has enough force to move the remains. Especially as it appears to be a magical tsunami designed to wipe away whatever caused it.

Continuity mistake: In the "limbo" scene at King's Cross when Harry is speaking to Dumbledore, Dumbledore's hair changes frequently. It is covering part of his beard, then is back behind his ear, then is hanging neatly down.

Suggested correction: The camera is never reflected in the mirror Harry is holding.

Continuity mistake: When the Snatchers run out of the forest toward the covered bridge, Neville is standing in the bridge's center. But when the three Snatchers are killed by the shield, Neville is now standing at the bridge's entrance. (00:50:50)

Harry Potter: You'll stay with me?
Lily Potter: Always.
Sirius Black: Until the end.

Trivia: In the scene where Hagrid has dropped a "dead" Harry Potter, look quickly at George. He turns his head to the right and yells "Fred!" Fred has already been killed by Bellatrix Lestrange so it seems he may have forgotten this in a moment of grief.

Question: When Hermione goes to Gringotts disguised as Bellatrix, the bank manager asks to see her wand. Hermione has Bellatrix's wands from the previous film. Why does she not simply show it?

bomberswarm2

Chosen answer: Hermione knows this is an unusual request and she and (and Harry) suspect the bank knows that Bellatrix's wand was captured by Harry Potter (at the end of Part 1). Showing the bank manager the real wand would prove that this is not Bellatrix. The bank and Voldemort's minions expected that Harry and the others might go to Gringotts searching for a Horcrux in the Lestrange's vault. They are setting a trap for Harry and his accomplices.

Incidentally, if I remember right, in the book Hermione actually does hand over Bellatrix's wand, not realizing the Gringotts goblins already know the wand is no longer in her possession, forcing Harry to cast a timely Imperius Curse to avoid the entire plan being exposed.
