Factual error: When the soldiers return to HQs, the American flag, hung vertically over the entrance, has the blue field with stars on the right. The flag, when hung vertically, is supposed to have the blue field on the left..

Factual error: The commanding SS officer at the church massacre is incorrectly addressed "Herr Major". Although his rank does correspond to that of a Wehrmacht major, the correct address is "Sturmbannführer" (and not with "Herr", in the SS officers were addressed with rank only).

Factual error: During the first battle both sides uses artillery, however none of the guns have any recoil when firing. Neither the American M101A1 or the German 88 mm Flak were recoilless cannons - both cannons' barrels would have recoiled backwards when fired.

Continuity mistake: In the scene at the 92nd Infantry Division HQ, in the General's office, the General unholsters his pistol and drops it on his desk. In the shot immediately after, his pistol can be seen back in its holster. (00:47:00)

Continuity mistake: When the soldiers rip off posters that depicts racial images of buffalo soldiers, the board underneath remains blank. Later in the movie, when they are about to escape the town, the board is shown with tattered old postings again.

Other mistake: During the scene where the German Soldiers mow down an entire village, there are many shots of people crying and whimpering before the shooting begins. One little girl starts out with a sad face but then gives a big smile after looking to her left. (01:54:45)
