Braddock (Hurt) has a lapse of sanity and decides to kill Willie Parker (Stamp) before they reach their destination. Braddock shoots Willie in the back while he tries to run. Myron (Roth) walks away to avoiding watching Braddock kill Maggie (Del Sol), but Braddock shoots him in the eye. Him and Maggie struggle until Braddock knocks her out and flees. The police find Maggie and use her to find Braddock. The police ambush Braddock as he tries to walk through the nearest town. He is shot dead by the police.
