Other mistake: The film is meant to be set in the US, but there are some odd lines of dialogue that seem to indicate the movie takes place in the England, such as a reference to the (very British) Julia being on her "home turf." This is the result of a change made in post-production, where producers decided to change the setting to the US to make it more marketable to American audiences. Unfortunately, there were some lines about the original English setting that (evidently) couldn't be cut around.

Continuity mistake: When Kirsty accidentally opens the box while in the hospital, the face with the large diamond design on it is initially on top, then when it cuts to a close up, the box somehow flips 90 degrees so the face with the circle on it is on top.
Pinhead: No tears, please. It's a waste of good suffering.
Trivia: The video release of Hellraiser (1987) had one of the most unusual pieces of bonus materials that has ever been offered: A Home Shopping show where merchandise from the movie could be purchased. The show was hosted by a giddy old lady claiming to be a hardcore fan of the movie.
