Corrected entry: Towards the end when the cavalry uncovers the American flag, it has 50 stars.

Correction: It's a 34-star flag (1861).

Not to mention the fact that the movie was released before Hawaii even became a state. And most of it was filmed before Alaska did. Where would they even get a fifty-star flag? The current flag only became the US flag in 1960.

Factual error: The movie takes place in 1863, however, the Union cavalry troops are equipped with Springfield "Trapdoor" carbines, a weapon not introduced until 1873.
