Trivia: The making of this film was notorious, with the Weinsteins demanding director Wes Craven do four separate reshoots and the production lasting nearly five years. The movie was changed so much in reshoots and editing that entire characters were dropped from the film, including two main characters played by Skeet Ulrich and Mandy Moore. Editor Patrick Lussier claims that he has a VHS screener of the original cuts of the film, while to this day, fans have called for the release of the "Craven Cut."
