Revealing mistake: At the end of the movie, when the last "Graboid" appears, in one or two shots of him retracting back into the ground, you can tell the shots are reversed, as dirt is being sucked down in an unnatural way. It flies up and sort of "implodes" towards the creature. (01:23:50)

Hiram leaves but returns with many weapons including a cannon. They kill one Dirt Dragon with the cannon. Then Takopa lures one into a saw blade. The last one traps people on a wagon but Hiram hooks its tail and pulls it into a machine, killing it. The hotel owner gives Hiram his mine back and an old western machine gun.
