Trivia: The line "It's not who you go with, it's who takes you home" is said in every Prom Night movie, even despite the fact that the later films aren't true sequels to this one.
Answer: I don't believe so; there were clues that someone witnessed the murder. A shadow appeared before the dead girl. I believe Alex said a few words that hinted at that. I haven't seen the movie in years.
