Guilty by Suspicion

David Merrill (Robert de Niro) is a Hollywood director in the 50's. He is called by the House Committee on Un-American Activities to explain whether or not his friends are Communists. This was set in the period of McCarthyism. Merrill refuses to name names, which may eventually put his friends on the blacklist.
