Continuity mistake: Following the visit from Mr. Bubbles that did not go well at all, when Nani starts to chase after Lilo, just as they enter the kitchen we see the fridge. After Nani catches her sister, when Lilo tells Nani to sell her and buy a rabbit instead, there are more pictures up on the fridge that were not there during the chase. (00:19:55 - 00:21:00)
Other mistake: While Nani is in Lilo's bedroom, they both see the "falling star" outside, and when Lilo tries to push Nani out of her room so she can make a wish, the left wood banister is deliberately missing from where it should be. (00:21:05 - 00:23:15)
Continuity mistake: When Lilo brings Stitch out to present him to Nani, in the Aloha dog home, the woman grabs Stitch while Nani backs away, holding Lilo. Stitch then walks over to Lilo, with the woman holding onto him, and the wooden door on the counter is wide open. However two shots later you can see in the background that the door is now down and closed. (00:23:35)
Continuity mistake: The Aloha Animal Rescue's front door has a doorknob with a backplate (it has a keyhole) as well as an upper deadbolt lock. The backplate and the upper deadbolt vanish and reappear while Nani and Lilo are there. (00:25:30 - 00:26:35)
Continuity mistake: In the first shot of Nani and Lilo at the animal shelter, when Nani tells the woman, "Something that won't die," there's a big black telephone on the green wall. When Nani is buying Stitch, the woman says "There's a two-dollar licence fee," and on the green wall there is a big large empty space where the telephone was hanging. Then after the paper is stamped, when it cuts to a wideview, the big black telephone is hanging on the wall again. (00:26:15)
Deliberate mistake: When Lilo is told to think of a name for her "dog" while at the Aloha Animal Rescue, there's an adoption document on the desk. The document's paragraph is in fact an acknowledgment of appreciation for this movie's production. Although it's only briefly seen twice, there's sufficient time to read a few words, such as "project Lilo and Stitch" or "at Disney-MGM Studios," and particularly in the close-up as it's being stamped "making of Lilo and Stitch," the last words of the paragraph. Continuity mistake: Pleakley tells Jumba, "You look like a monster. We have to blend in." It then cuts to a wide view of the street, with Mulan Wok restaurant located between an outdoor produce market in an alley and Kara's Electronics store. When Stitch snarls at hearing the bike bell, in the next shot of Lilo's "friends" showing up on their bikes, we see the electronics store and the alley's produce market, but the Mulan Wok restaurant storefront is quite missing in between. Continuity mistake: While Stitch, Nani, and Lilo are standing outside Kara's Electronics, the red TV has a VCR atop it, and the storefront window has two credit card decals at its bottom right corner. When Lilo asks, "What about Stitch?" the VCR is gone and the two decals are missing. Then, after Stitch snarls at the bicycle bell, the VCR is back, and the colors and style of the two decals change, though it reverts to the original way as Lilo shouts, "My friends!" (00:28:40)
Other mistake: Stitch watches 1958's "The Spider" on TV in a store's window. Some shots face the TV screen, and other shots face Stitch so we're seeing the TV screen's reflection. When Nani tells Lilo they'll meet at 1:00, in this shot facing Stitch the reflection of "The Spider" movie is properly backwards (note "mattress" sign), but two shots later the reflection of the woman screaming in that movie is in fact not reversed as it should be ("The Spider" scene timecode is 00:55:50). Continuity mistake: After Stitch regurgitates the two slices of cake he replaces both onto one plate, and the second empty plate vanishes from the table. When Stitch smells the bait and hops off the chair, the plate with the two slices of cake has also vanished (the height with the cherry on top would be seen). (00:32:25)
Continuity mistake: When Lilo and Nani bring Stitch home for the first time, the door latch can be seen on the door, but it disappears in the next shot, and the type of back plate on the exterior side of the door changes. (00:35:17)
Continuity mistake: After Stitch finds Lilo's photo, he runs across the bed and then Lilo follows him, and you can see the yellow bedsheet covered in stars and moons and planets etc. is pulled up neatly on the bed. However after Stitch messes some stuff around, they return to the bed and now the yellow sheet is mysteriously hanging untidily over the foot of the bed. (00:35:45 - 00:36:15)
Other mistake: When Nani sees Stitch standing in front of the open fridge, Stitch's shadow behind Nani is of his alien form, with four arms and two antennae. When Stitch is actually shown, he is in his "dog" form, with two arms and no antennae. (00:39:12)
Continuity mistake: When Cobra Bubbles shows up at the front door and confronts Nani about quitting her job, Stitch is holding a red book with its spine to his right; it then cuts to another angle facing Mr. Bubbles, and now Stitch is suddenly holding the book the opposite way with white pages to his right, before Stitch throws the book at the social worker's head. Continuity mistake: When Nani, Lilo, and Stitch arrive at Mrs. Hasagawa's produce market, the parked truck has "Hasegawa" and a hibiscus on its door. The market's name and hibiscus vanish from the door when Stitch spins out of control with the hearing impaired market owner. Then, in the last shot of Stitch and the watermelon atop Mrs. Hasagawa, there's only a faint "Hasagawa" on the door, with an "a" now. Just to add, the market owner is listed in the credits as Mrs. Hasagawa. (00:42:20 - 00:43:00)
Continuity mistake: During Nani's job hunt, Lilo's speaker has a brand emblem on its front just as they all enter Mrs. Hasagawa's produce market, but then it vanishes. The "Gilligan" emblem reappears when Lilo hands Stitch the guitar at Kiki's Coffee Hut, and it vanishes again at the beach. (00:42:25 - 00:43:05)
Continuity mistake: While Nani tries to obtain a job at Mrs. Hasegawa's produce market, Lilo tells Stitch about Elvis Presley's model citizen traits. The lightning bolt on Lilo's red wagon is in the opposite direction than in other shots. The lightning bolts also vanish in long shots while Lilo has the wagon with her. (00:42:30 - 00:43:10)
Continuity mistake: When Jumba fires his plasma blaster at Stitch, the little alien catches the plasma, then throws the plasma ball at Jumba's head, where it bounces off and hits the record player, which begins to play "Hound Dog." Two shots later, when Jumba says he loves this song, a lid support hinge now appears on the record player, and its power cord is gone, etc. (01:00:10)
Continuity mistake: While Jumba is in the house searching for Stitch, Lilo helps Stitch hide a small explosive device inside Scrump, the rag doll. When Stitch pushes the roller skate with Lilo's doll across the floor, in the close-up the skate's two buckle tongues are on the right, but in the next shot the tongues are on the opposite side. Deliberate mistake: When the roller skate with Scrump explodes, just as Jumba is blown backwards, notice the hallway's left wall with the doorway into the kitchen (this doorway is beside the stairs) is deliberately gone in this shot. That hallway wall with the doorway reappears properly in the next shot and a following shot. (01:00:30)
