Other mistake: The kid that plays young Lou Gehrig later reappears when Ma finds out that Gehrig signed with the Yankees.
The Pride of the Yankees (1942)
1 other mistake
Directed by: Sam Wood
Starring: Gary Cooper, Walter Brennan, Teresa Wright, Babe Ruth
Revealing mistake: The ball Lou Gehrig hits that smashes a window doesn't come off his bat. It comes from behind him.
Lou Gehrig: People have to live their own lives. Nobody can live it for you. Nobody could have made a baseball player out of Uncle Otto, and nobody can make anything but a baseball player out of me.
Trivia: Copper was right handed - all his scenes were filmed right handed and then reversed. The number "4" on the back of his uniform was put on backwards.
