Continuity mistake: When Albert Johnson jumps into the top of a tree, he first throws his backpack off the hill but leaves his rifle. After he gets to the base of the tree both his backpack and rifle are there.

Continuity mistake: When Carl Weathers gets killed, he is on the ground with his left arm lying across his forehead. The camera cuts away to Lee Marvin who walks back from the edge of the cliff to Weathers, and in the next view of Weathers, Weathers' other arm - his right - is now across his forehead.

Revealing mistake: When the mounties are attacking Johnson's cabin, one of the men with them crawls into a bear trap. You can plainly see that the jaws of the trap are made of rubber or some other soft material when he struggles.

Revealing mistake: Just after Charles Bronson throws his rifle across a ravine in the middle of the trackless Canadian wilderness of 1932, the film cuts to a wider camera shot that shows a modern highway guardrail fifty feet away. (Visible on AMC's full screen presentation.)

Continuity mistake: As the posse is attacking Johnson's cabin, one man runs up and kicks down the door. Johnson shoots him, then the door swings back and closes on its hinges again.

Suggested correction: The door does not get kicked off its hinges. It swings open.

Factual error: The spotter pilot is Captain Tucker of the Royal Canadian Air Force. But the RCAF of the 1930s used RAF ranks. He would actually be a Flight Lieutenant.

Sergeant Edgar Millen: If anyone's going to bring in Albert Johnson, it's going to be me - not some bounty hunter or some flyboy buckin' for promotion.
Constable Alvin Adams: Why you? Why are you so special?
Sergeant Edgar Millen: He deserves me, not them.
