Continuity mistake: When Bligh is pumping the patch up on his inflatable boat, when it shows a close-up of it, there are empty black hooks underneath it. Yet when the patch bursts, there is now white rope running through the previously empty hooks. (01:19:25)

Continuity mistake: When Bligh is in his boat, pumping it up with his foot, he changes from using his right foot, to his left foot and back to his right foot between shots. (01:19:15)

Continuity mistake: In the close-up scenes at Cable Junction, with water, the sky is clear. But in the scene where Brody is climbing on to the cable, the sky in the background is completely gray - and actually looks like a studio wall.

Continuity mistake: When Ellen grabs the coffee pot from the stove she grabs the handle with her right hand and place the left hand on the side of the pot. When it cuts her left hand is down. (00:25:00)

Continuity mistake: When Chief Brody comes home drunk, he finds Ellen and Hendricks sitting talking and he then comes in and pours himself and Hendricks a drink, in order to celebrate the fact that Brody has just given Hendricks his Chief of Police badge. Back and forth between shots, the amount of drink in Brody's glass differs. (00:56:05)

Continuity mistake: When the divers find the Orca, one diver goes through a door still latched to the frame, in perfect condition. But seconds later the other diver takes a photo of this diver in front of the same door, which is now hanging off it's hinges and is damaged. (00:02:05)

Continuity mistake: When Mike and Sean are on the boat and Mike says "If you're gonna get in the way you can just go home" and Sean grabs the line with one hand. When it cuts, he's holding onto the line with both hands. (01:00:35)

Continuity mistake: When Tina and Eddie are making out, just before Tina hears the sound of Terry water-skiing, the position of Eddie's guitar, radio, blanket etc., changes between shots. (00:18:00)

Continuity mistake: When Mike is repainting a striped beach-house, he turns to see his friends riding a catamaran, and he then turns and makes a big splodge with his brush on the second stripe from the side, on the beach-house. In this shot note the shape of the paint on this stripe. After Chief Brody rings the bell because he thinks he sees a shark, he begins to climb down the watch tower, and it then cuts to a shot of Mike standing in front of the beach-house - and now the shape of the paint-marks are different - they are lower and smaller. (00:42:35 - 00:44:50)

Hamster

Continuity mistake: In the scene where Brody drives his jeep onto the ferry he drives it to the edge. Yet in the next shot when it reaches the other side the jeep is about two feet from the edge.

Revealing mistake: In the shot of Eddie falling backwards out of Tina's Joy into the water, his hair is wet before he hits the water. (01:10:15)

Audio problem: When Chief Brody and Dr. Lureen Elkins walk along the beach, over to the huge dead whale, Brody says "I called you as soon as I heard, because I hear the bites are really bigÂ…", his mouth does not correctly match up with the audio. (00:27:15)

Hamster

Continuity mistake: When Brody walks up on the old lady's porch and Tina says "We heard this noise like a boom", Brody has his hands hanging down. When it cuts, he has them up. (00:22:40)

Revealing mistake: When the divers are snorkeling underwater for lobsters and they find one and try to grab it the lobster they show is a southern lobster without any claws. Lobster from New England look very different from the one in the movie and have claws.

Continuity mistake: When Terry is water-skiing, her mum is driving the speedboat. The speedboat has the writing "MS 5713 EB" on both of its sides. The sides of the boat are made up of shiplap boarding. In the first half of the skiing scene when we see the side of the speedboat, the writing is printed on the second board down from the top of the boat. However in the second half of the scene, after Terry has been grabbed by the shark, the writing has moved up onto the top board. The condition of the paint of the actual whole boat changes between a few shots too. Sometimes the green paint is totally fresh and new looking, in others it is faded and looks more worn. (00:18:40 - 00:20:25)

Hamster

Continuity mistake: When Mike says Sean can't come with him, Tina says, "He can help me, at least" with her hair hanging over her right shoulder. When it cuts, her hair is pulled back. (00:12:10)

Mortug

Revealing mistake: During the scene in the bar, the first shot shows some kid playing an arcade of some sort, and the shot continues to scroll from right to left. However, all the writing (ie. the arcade machine, t-shirts, chalkboard, and various signs) are all backwards, which means the shot is flipped.

Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the movie, when the divers find the Orca boat, there is a plate with the word "ORCA", nailed to the front of the boat. However in the first movie this wasn't here. Also, the damage done to the Orca is noticeably different. (00:02:00)

Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the film when the shark attacks the divers, you see in one shot that the shark already had a burned scarred face. The shark doesn't get set alight until later in in the film. This scene was one of the last ones to be filmed.

Suggested correction: The burned and scarred shark face is from the explosion at the beginning of the movie when the water skier's boat exploded.

This correction's false - the attack on the water skier's boat occurred well after the opening attack on the divers.

Continuity mistake: After explaining what they saw when Terry's mom's boat exploded Tina asks if they can leave. Brody then puts his hand on the porch column on the left side of it. When it cuts his arm is resting on the right side of it.

Mortug

Martin Brody: You don't have to worry about being sued or being ruined if this turns out to be what I think it is, because there won't be anybody here!

Trivia: In the first Jaws movie, the name given to the shark was Bruce, named after Steven Spielberg's lawyer. In this movie, the sharks were called Fidel and Harold. Harold was the name of David Brown's lawyer.

Question: Is the shark in this one at all related to "Bruce" (the shark from the original film). The woman's line "Sharks don't take things personally Mr Brody" made me suspicious.

Connor Noiles

Answer: For what it's worth, in the novelization the shark is a female and pregnant with the offspring of the first movie's shark, but that's not brought up in the film at all.

Chosen answer: That is highly unlikely. The woman is only pointing out to Brody that he is making it a personal issue when what he is dealing with is an animal that lacks emotion, intelligence, or self-awareness and is only acting on its primal instinct.

The ironic thing is that is the entire plot line for Jaws: The revenge.
