Deliberate mistake: When Jay is unable to re-create the line about how most girlfriends cheat rather than bring lasagna, Silent Bob says it instead. The scene mimics how Jason Mewes couldn't say the line correctly in the actual filming of "Clerks," leading to Kevin Smith doing it. But in universe, Bob is always the one who said it. Also, Randal wasn't there originally, so for him to write it means Dante or Bob told him, and it's unlikely they'd say Jay said it since Bob speaking was the key reveal of the moment. Suggested correction: I'm not understanding how this is a mistake. Randall simply decided to give the line to Jay. (Most likely because Bob rarely speaks anyway and is also working as a crew member.) And ironically, Bob ended up having to say the line just like he did in real life because Jay couldn't deliver it. This feels like it would be better as trivia than a mistake.

Continuity mistake: In the wide view of "Quick Stop Groceries," there is a yellow pole directly in front of and almost touching the far right side of the van's front bumper, but the pole isn't there in the rear view of the van. (00:01:43)

Trivia: The original script was very different, and much more downbeat. It would have focused on Randal spiraling into depression after Hurricane Sandy destroyed the Quick Stop and much of the town. A sort-of shantytown village is started in the parking lot of a movie theater by displaced locals, where Randall would make a new makeshift Quick Stop. Smith described it as a movie about dealing with grief. Kevin Smith ended up re-writing it into a more hopeful, upbeat film a few years later.
