Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

Trivia: SPOILER: Doctor Strange sarcastically asks Reed Richards if the Fantastic 4 had chart-toppers in the 1960s. This is likely a reference to the Fantastic 4's comics debut being in 1961.

Trivia: SPOILER: This is the first MCU film to feature characters from Fantastic 4 and X-Men (Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver's association with X-Men in the comics notwithstanding). These properties were previously unavailable to Marvel Studios, as their film rights were held by Fox prior to their acquisition by Disney in 2019.

Trivia: Patrick Stewart revealed in January 2021 that he had conversations with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige about reprising his role of Professor Charles Xavier in the MCU. Stewart claims to have declined, reasoning that he felt his appearance in Logan was a fitting end to his time as the character, but it appears that he was either fibbing, or later changed his mind.

Trivia: SPOILER: Prior to his appearance here, John Krasinski was a popular fan pick to portray the MCU version of Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic. His wife Emily Blunt has also been a popular fan pick to play Reed's wife Susan Storm/Invisible Woman. Blunt has said the role does not interest her, but actors in past MCU projects have been known to mislead about their involvement.

Trivia: Original "Doctor Strange" director Scott Derrickson was originally attached to return for this sequel in 2017, but left the production in early 2020. Derrickson and his co-writer C. Robert Cargill wanted to take the movie in a different direction than Marvel Studios, and decided to step away, as they did not want to compromise either their or Marvel's vision for the sequel. Derrickson however is remaining attached as an executive producer due to his work on the first movie and the character.

Trivia: SPOILERS: There is a second post-credits scene. In it, Bruce Campbell (the pizza-ball vendor) is still punching himself in the face. Suddenly, he regains control of his hand, begins maniacally laughing, then turns to the camera and breaks the fourth wall by screaming "It's over!" (In reference to both his hand and the movie).

Trivia: The fourth comic-book movie directed by Sam Raimi, who previously directed the original "Spider-Man" trilogy in the 2000's. Marvel head honcho Kevin Feige is reportedly a big fan of Raimi's first two "Spider-Man" movies (even referring to "Spider-Man 2" as "one of the best superhero movies ever" in interviews), and desperately wanted to bring him into the MCU as a director.

Continuity mistake: Stephen performs a magic trick very popular at weddings a couple millennia ago changing water into wine; as he does that, you can notice that the barman in close-up is bent over behind the counter, but he was standing a moment before when Strange started the gesture.
