Harold is a nice guy just trying to get through in life. Works as middle management at a pharmaceutical company, and is drug onto a trip down to Mexico to work out an issue with his boss and the plant management. But Harold learns that his boss is planning on cheating him out of his work and using him as a scapegoat, as well as learns his wife is cheating on him and leaving him. Harold does not return to the US with his boss and then stages a fake kidnapping to try and get the ransom money for himself... only things go terribly wrong when he becomes the target of a drug cartel and a real kidnapping happens.
