Continuity mistake: Just after Engi says "I solve practical problems," he gestures towards the camera with his gloved hand. He has his thumb on his left hand lying down across the top of the guitar. Then in the next cut, just before he leans down to grab a beer, his thumb is now sticking up straight. Also, his shadow moves closer to the truck's door handle. (00:00:20)
Continuity mistake: Just before Engi says "use a gun," there's a shot of the Level 2 Sentry opening fire. Behind it, there was a Level 1 Sentry sitting on the hood of the truck, but in this shot, it has vanished, only to return for the rest of the video. (00:00:40)
Character mistake: There is a level 1 sentry on the back of the blue truck Engi is sitting against. This sentry is closer to the ridge that the Sniper is on, who is trying to sneak up on Engi. However, it is the level 1 sentry beside the truck next to Engi that reacts and kills the Sniper. The truck would have been between this sentry and the Sniper, so it couldn't see or shoot it, and the sentry on the back of the truck would have seen and shot the Sniper first. (00:00:35)
Continuity mistake: Just before Engineer asks how to keep someone from tearing him a new behind, the camera switches angles. His left hand's fingers change position slightly on the frets of the guitar between shots; most notably, his pinky finger is lower down. (00:00:30)
Revealing mistake: The engineer is wearing suspender hardware to keep his work overalls in place. The bottom part is held up by T-shaped bars or button clips, or T-tabs, that are metal. As the engineer moves around in the video, you can see these bending and squashing as his character model moves, not behaving like actual metal tabs would as a solid piece. (00:00:05)
Continuity mistake: As the camera is pulling back to show the BLU mercs advancing on Engi, a level 2 sentry is on the right side of the screen firing. There is no smoke coming from the barrels. Then the camera cuts to a further away shot, and now there's smoke coming out of it. (00:01:10)
Deliberate mistake: The engineer is playing guitar perfectly while wearing a thick welding glove on his right hand. In reality, welding gloves are designed for heavy protection, not dexterity. They're bulky, stiff, and remove nearly all tactile feedback, making precise plucking or strumming impossible. Even holding a pick would be extremely difficult, so his flawless guitar playing is only possible through cartoon exaggeration. (00:00:05)
Revealing mistake: When the Level 3 Sentry is firing up into the air for no apparent reason, it fires some rockets with a clear defined smoke trail behind them and disappear off screen. Then the shot jump cuts to further away and suddenly the smoke appears again, but the end of the smoke trails are solid and crisp indicating the animators used the smoke animation as if the rockets had just been fired from that spot... in the middle of the sky. (00:01:10)
Continuity mistake: Towards the beginning of the video and just a little bit later, you see bullets hit the truck behind the Engineer and leave clear, large bullet holes. These holes are very visible and stay in the same spot. But as the camera is pulling back and you see these large holes still there, you can see sparks jump off the truck a couple more times in two more spots near the Engineer's head. However these shots leave no holes while the older holes remain visible. (00:01:10)
Factual error: It is a Level 2 Sentry that is sitting by the Engineer on his left. But as the camera pulls back, and then does a jump cut further away, the Level 2 Sentry is seen suddenly firing rockets. But only Level 3 Sentries can fire rockets. Also it's still pointing to the right of the screen and shooting bullets visible while the rockets fire towards the left of screen. Even Level 3 sentries can't fire in two different directions at once. (00:01:15)
Audio problem: As the camera pulls back from the truck, a Pyro is running up at the Engi from the left side. When the Level 1 Sentry turns and kills him, the Pyro makes the Sniper's death cry. (00:01:10)
Character mistake: As the camera pulls back from the truck, the Level 3 Sentry on the ridge looks up and fires rockets into the sky for no reason while the enemies are advancing from in front. Sentries specifically target human movement from the enemy team, and there are no rocket jumping Soldiers or sticky jumping Demomen off in that direction. The sentry is just shooting at nothing up in the sky. (00:01:10)
Factual error: When the Level 2 Sentry gun begins firing, you can see Shotgun shells falling out of it instead of the usual ammo casings. (00:00:40)
Character mistake: When the Level 3 Sentry gun is revealed on the right of the screen and fires a rocket barrage to the left, you hear it explode as the Engi looks over. You then hear Scout scream "My arm!" really loud. Then an disembodied arm falls in front of Engi with a plop. However, this arm is from the character model of Sniper, not Scout. Including his glove and his watch. (00:00:45)
