Saturday Night Fever

Continuity mistake: When Tony walks into 2001 that first night, he shakes hands with some guy as he is walking through the club and again a few minutes later. (00:13:00)

Continuity mistake: In the beginning, Travolta is walking down the street with a paint can. It's a sunny day. He then looks to cross the street, crosses, and now the streets are wet with rain. (00:03:35)

Continuity mistake: In the beginning sequence of the movie, as John Travolta is walking down the street, he looks at two girls whom he apparently thinks are cute. In the scene with the second girl, whom he stands in front of while attempting to make a pass at, the heavy-set female extra behind this girl, who is wearing a white shirt and carrying a bag with a tomato on it, first is walking behind the girl in the same direction she is going (coming toward Travolta), then in the next shot is seen walking away from Travolta and the girl, and then in the next shot is back to her original position and is walking behind the girl again. (00:03:15)

Continuity mistake: When Tony and Stephanie are in the dance studio, he starts a portable record player and the needle doesn't land on the first track. It's closer to the end of the record than the beginning and yet we hear the song start from the beginning. (00:53:05)

Continuity mistake: The extra club fillers did not change their clothes in the disco scenes that occur on different nights, only Tony and the crew are wearing new outfits. (00:12:55)

Continuity mistake: When John Travolta and Karen Gorney leave the dance club after giving back their first prize for the dance contest they head for the car. Before they get in the rear window on the passenger side is closed. After they get in it is open. After Travolta gets out it is closed again. (01:42:30)

Continuity mistake: Travolta's friends pick him up with the car to go to 2001 Odyssey. The roads are wet. When they reach the end of the block the roads are dry. (00:11:00)

Continuity mistake: In the scene right after Bobby falls off the bridge, when the group is down at water level with the police searching for Bobby, Tony is seen with a Steri-Strip type of bandage and some sort of stitches covering the cut over his right eye (screen left). The cut goes from side to side. In the next scene, where Tony is on the subway, the cut is still visible, but there is no bandage nor stitches, and the cut is now vertical instead of horizontal. Also, he did not have the bandage nor stitches when he was on the bridge trying to console Bobby, or any time before that after the fight scene, at the hospital, or while dancing. (01:49:30)

Continuity mistake: Right before the car crashes into the bar, the windows are down. But once the car has crashed, the windows are up, without anyone touching them.

Continuity mistake: When Bobby is on the bridge towards the end, he's wearing white sneakers while he's climbing the cables. In the next shot he's wearing black shoes. (01:47:19)

Continuity mistake: The first view of the 2001 Oddyssey Club's billboard reads "Fri Sat Carol Douglas - Next Wk Blue Magic." A few seconds later when the car turns the corner, the artist on the billboard is simply "Monterock." The sign further down the wall about the annual disco contest also changes style, with the letters being closer together. (00:12:08)

Visible crew/equipment: In the end scene when Tony comes to Stephanie's house to apologise, you can see the microphone coming down from the ceiling. (01:52:20)

Trivia: When Tony Manero's father slaps him on the back of the head during an argument at the dinner table, Tony replies, "Would you just watch the hair? You know, I work on my hair a long time and you hit it! He hits my hair!" John Travolta ad-libbed this line. Director John Badham thought it was so perfect for the character of Tony Manero that he decided to leave it in the film.
