Trivia: Of all the different Stephen King adaptations, this one bears the least resemblance to its source material (not counting The Lawnmower Man which King demanded his name be taken off).

Trivia: As Killian is addressing the crew, watch the end credits on the monitor over his left shoulder. The entire list is totally nonsensical.

Movie Nut

Trivia: When Killian is talking about the next possible contestant, he points out he's 120 pounds and wouldn't last 30 seconds. This is somewhat making fun of how they used Arnold Schwarzenegger to portray Ben Richards. In the book "The Running Man" (which has a very different structure), Ben Richards is described as "scrawny", the complete opposite of Arnold.

Trivia: In the broadcast version, Killian tells Tony to give the Justice Department an evasive answer. "Tell the to take a hike." In the original cut, he said "Tell them to go F- themselves."

Movie Nut

Continuity mistake: In the scene after the prison break, we see Richards, Weiss and Laughlin walking through the city. On the big television screen there is a commercial for The Running Man game show. The footage they feature on the commercial is footage from the episode Richards is in. How could they show footage from that episode if it has not taken place yet?

Question: What exactly is the re-education that people keep talking about?

Answer: As this is a totalitarian government, they would re-educate (reprogram) its citizens into whatever social and political beliefs they advocate. This would allow them to better control the population and prevent dissension and rebellion.
