Audio problem: Jay's friends are playing Old Maid on the porch at night. Her sister asks the guy to pass her the spiked soda. She drinks and then puts the can down. Several seconds pass, but in the next shot Paul retrieves the can reacting to it as if the girl just put it down - in fact there is even a metallic sound, which is impossible consider Kelly's movements and Yara talking between shots. Continuity mistake: Chilling on the couch watching a movie, Jay's friend farts. Obviously well practiced in the discipline, it takes her merely moments within the same shot to perform the necessary adjustments after the emission and place her index finger back on the dainty seashell lid of her media device. But in the next shot, as she proudly smiles basking in the warm glow of her successful feat, her finger is off the lid. (00:07:00)

Yara: When I was a little girl my parents would not allow me to go south of 8th mile. And I did not even know what that meant until I got a little older. And I started realizing that. That was where the city started and the suburbs ended. And I used to think about how shitty and weird was that. I mean I had to ask permission to go to the state fair with my best friend and her parents only because it was a few blocks past the border.

Question: Why did Jay look like she was going to swim out to the boys on the boat to have sex with them if it turned out she never did?

Answer: The scene was meant to show that Jay was seriously considering having sex with a stranger and passing the curse on, as she was told to do. At the last minute she changed her mind, presumably due to guilt.
