Stupidity: In the first game of the season, Pete makes a tackle on a receiver and causes him to fumble. The play results in a scoop and score, only the Titans player who recovers the ball runs the wrong way.
Factual error: Towards the end of the movie when the Titans are playing for the championship, Petie grabs up a fumbled ball and runs with it. When he stands up from being tackled, watching TV back in his hospital room, Gary yells Petie's name and the nurse comes to Gary's room to see if everything is all right. When she opens the door to Gary's hospital room, she opens it into the hallway. There isn't a hospital in the world where the patients door opens into the hallway. They all open inward to the patient's room.
Coach Paul 'Doc' Hines: You have twelve brothers and sisters?
Coach Boone: Eight.
Coach Paul 'Doc' Hines: Yeah, twelve sounds better.
Trivia: Throughout the movie, it is implied that the Titans are underdogs, and the final game is depicted as being very close, with the Titans winning on the last play of the game. In reality, the Titans won the state championship by a score of 27-0 and held the opposing team to minus 5 yards total offense. They also finished the season ranked second in the nation.
Question: Just out of curiosity, they didn't mention what happen to that Alan guy who gave his position to Pete. Did he go on to play college ball?
