Factual error: The opening scene of the Skyview collapse takes place on May 16, 1968, according to a newspaper clipping about the tower being closed for repairs as a result of Iris' premonition. During the vision, when the first bodies fall from the sky, the parking valets are listening to "Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head" on the radio. However, that song was written for the movie "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" and wouldn't be released until October 1969.
Factual error: When the hackers are trying to steal the photo from the woman's laptop, they turn up the TV to distract her. One of them clicks the smart TV icon and starts dragging the slider to increase the volume, which is all well and good, but we then cut to the hacker hammering the up key to increase the volume instead.
Factual error: When Martin Krebs is sitting in traffic, he looks in his driver's side rear view mirror, and the writing "Objects in mirror are closer than they appear" is printed in a clear call-back to the first film. However, this repeats the mistake made in the first film: this writing is only on passenger side mirrors.
Factual error: A DC3 that flies at 198 mph max makes it from Europe to Alaska to Africa in a few hours.
Factual error: In the air battle with the Predator vs the World War 2 planes, Torres figures out the alien is tracking their heat. When he and the other pilot climb high to cool the engines, Torres cuts off his while the other pilot keeps his on. In the Predator's perspective, as soon as Torres kills his engine, the ship disappears from his heat vision. That's not how heat works. It's not just a light switch you can turn on and off. It would take time for the plane to slowly cool off and be invisible. (00:55:15)
Factual error: No matter how rich Emily's fiancé is, she wouldn't be out free "on appeal" and just allowed to go travelling off to Italy.
Factual error: In the movie, the 1993 Spanish GP was held at the Jerez Circuit, whereas in reality, said GP was held at the Montmeló (Barcelona) circuit.
Factual error: Spike is shown having a Power Rangers figure in his bedroom. The only problem is that it's from the Operation Overdrive series, which didn't come out until 2007, five years after the initial outbreak in 2002, isolating the UK from the rest of the outside world as a result.
Factual error: Despite being underwater, the sandwich looks surprisingly fresh - and it even stays perfectly steady on the rock instead of floating away, defying the laws of gravity and physics.
Factual error: Air Commodore Cyril Cooke is referred to as Sir Cyril. This is during the war, but he wasn't actually knighted until 1947.
Factual error: Cell phones aren't allowed to be used inside the CIA headquarters building and other intelligence agencies for security reasons. One of the security guards would have stopped "Auntie" if she attempted to walk through the security turnstiles while on her phone and would have told her to end her conversation, power down her phone, and secure it in her car or in a locker outside of the building before entering. (01:35:55 - 01:36:25)
Factual error: It's 1946, and you can see a MiG-23 next to a fortified hangar. The plane's first flight was in 1967. (00:21:00)
Factual error: The clock in the mine uses the Roman numeral VI to represent 4. That numeral stands for 6 - it should read IV instead (or IIII, as some clocks do for aesthetic reasons). In fact, there are two VIs on the clock.
Factual error: The police are astonished that Joyce and her friends managed to get their hands on the company accounts, since they say they couldn't get them as it is a private company. In actual fact, any private company must by law provide its accounts via the Companies House website, available to anyone to view and download.
Factual error: Edmond Kemper was six foot nine inches tall. When he comes home from prison at the beginning of the film, his mother is only a few inches shorter than him. That would make her huge, when instead she was much smaller than him. Likely because the actor is reported to be not much taller than average.
Factual error: When the movie starts, "1964" is shown on the screen. After a scary event, Lorraine goes into labour and gives birth to Judy Warren. The real Judy Warren was born in 1946, not 1964. Later, the movie moves to 1986. The movie shows a young Judy (19-20) with a boyfriend. Judy actually met and married her husband, Tony Spera, in 1979 or 1980. The movie showed them being married after 1986.
Factual error: Anna is referred to as an MA student. At Oxford, an MA is not a qualification for which students can study; rather, Bachelors of Arts (BAs) can be promoted to the rank of Master of Arts (MA), typically upon application, after three or four years after graduation.
Factual error: The "Dulles Airport" feeds for Concourse B and Concourse C look nothing alike. Concourse B is clean HD with neutral colour, while Concourse C has a heavy green tint, thicker scan lines, lower resolution, and more blurred areas. A real airport security system would have consistent camera quality, making it clear these were filmed in different locations and dressed up with overlays. (00:01:50)
Factual error: The film is set in Pennsylvania, but Justine goes into a liquor store that sells beer, wine, and spirits. In PA, beer is sold in package goods stores, supermarkets, and some convenience stores. Wine and spirits are sold in state liquor stores. In PA, you cannot buy beer, wine, and liquor in the same store.
