Best action movie mistakes of 1966
Other mistake: The movie concludes with George Peppard crashing a test monoplane. The shot is from James Mason's office, looking out over the airfield. We hear the sound of the diving plane, but do not see it. After the camera has been focused on the field for a few seconds, we see a large explosion, which is meant to represent the crashing plane. The falling plane is missing. From the position of the shot, we should have seen the crashing plane.
Character mistake: The bartender's (Robert Mitchum's brother John) character's name is Elmer. When JP goes to the bar to get Jason, Elmer makes a move for a gun behind the bar. JP shoots the bar, resulting in Elmer getting a fist full of splinters. JP says "I told you Elmer..." At the end when JP runs through the bar, he points the gun at Elmer and says "stay right there, Johnny."
Revealing mistake: Near the end of the film when a building is collapsing and people are running to escape the falling debris, several women along with James Coburn are running up some stairs; a block of cement falls and hits actress Gina Golan right in the head. Instead of killing her on the spot, the bolder merely bounces off her head and she continues running up the stairs.

Factual error: In the scene near the end of the film where Victor Buono is sitting in his chamber addressing his two captives, he opens a can labeled egg foo young with a can opener. He pours the liquid contents into a bowl. Egg foo young is an omelet and could not have passed through the small holes made with a can opener.
