Factual error: Towards the middle of the movie when when the British submarine leaves port with the Man Who Never Was onboard, it is flying what appears to be an American flag. The flag is visible for about ten seconds and if you look closely, you can see the field of blue of the stars and stripes in the upper corner.
Suggested correction: The flag, as can be seen before submarine sails and then from a distance, is obviously the White Ensign.
Factual error: Two grave markers at the end, approximately one hour and 27 minutes into the film, have the date of November 7, 1889, on them. The script made it clear that the climactic gunfight between Glenn Ford and Broderick Crawford came on a Sunday. Ford was called out of church services, for example. According to The World Almanac and Book of Facts, November 7, 1889, was a Thursday, not a Sunday.
Continuity mistake: At the very end of the show when Marshall Cass Silver gets in the carriage with Sally, Sally enters first, sitting on the left and him on the right. When the next shot shows them riding off together in the carriage, they have switched sides.
Continuity mistake: When Luther Blair and Captain Larson have been captured, the rest of the crew return to the ship. Later, Dr Higgins checks his watch. When the crew arrived at the planet they removed their spacesuits to reveal their short-sleeved shirts, yet the close up shows the watch below the long sleeve of his space suit, not just his bare skin.
Factual error: During the meeting concerning Godzilla, one of the scientists incorrectly states that the Jurassic Period was 2 million years ago. The Jurassic Period lasted from 180 to 135 million years ago. (00:29:40)
Continuity mistake: When Frankie punches Barakov, pushing him through the window, not only do you see the wires lifting him, but it is obvious that the inside of the building is a studio set as not only does the window get broken, but also the wall above it is torn. The wall is obviously made of paper and the scenery outside the building is a painted backdrop. And when the angle changes to outside the building, only the window is broken but the wall is intact.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Van Gogh cuts his ear off, he smothers his right ear with a towel to stop the bleeding. As the movie continues, we notice that throughout the whole movie his left ear was the one missing not the right ear as initially portrayed.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Robert Wagner and Buddy Ebsen are in a fox hole note the position of the bullets in their boxes. One lot is further away from the pole holding the shade canopy and in a closer shot it's now changed position and closer to the other bullets. The shot then changes again and the bullets are back to their original position as seen earlier. (01:19:25 - 01:20:50)
Continuity mistake: When Daffy (dressed as Bugs) is fishing at the pier, there is a can beside him that keeps disappearing and re-appearing between shots.
Continuity mistake: When Foghorn Leghorn is relaxing in the barnyard, you can see there are two hens fanning him, but when a man on a bicycle arrives with a telegram, the hens with fans have disappeared.
Continuity mistake: When Burt arrives home Milly gets up from her desk and we can see two magazines at each end of the coffee table with other items between the magazines. There is only one magazine closest to the door and three magazines at the other end and the cigarette box has moved closer to the three magazines. Then a magazine vanishes from the stack of three and the cigarette box has moved over and close to the outside edge of the coffee table. (00:57:50 - 01:05:30)
Continuity mistake: When Robert Wagner falls, halfway up the mountain, Spencer Tracy's rope, which is attached to Wagner, runs through his hands, making them bleed, but, finally, he gets a grip and he pulls Wagner up. As we see Tracy's rope, as it slowly comes up, but there is no blood on it.
Continuity mistake: Just after Bader has been told he'll never fly again, he meets his girlfriend on a bridge. As they walk along the bridge, Bader is on the girl's left, but, in the long shot, Bader is now on the girl's right.
Continuity mistake: When we see Dorlock Holmes at his desk at the start of the cartoon, you can see that he is writing with the feather in his right hand, but in the next shot he is holding the feather with his left hand.
Continuity mistake: Bradford's coat collar alternates between turned up and turned down throughout the scene outside the bowling alley. (00:15:00)
Continuity mistake: When Elmer Fudd realises that some of the elves are missing, his elf helper steps forward and you can see behind him are the other elves. When Elmer says "What shoemaker?" we return to the elf and the other elves who were behind him have disappeared.
Continuity mistake: When the bulldozer is pushing the boat on the beach, the driver is initially dark skinned with a hat. Then next shot he is fair with no hat. Then back to dark skinned with no hat. (00:24:55)
Continuity mistake: When the Tartar princess Bortai is first shown, and throughout the first part of the scene when John Wayne and Pedro Armendáriz ride to check her out, she lies in a litter shrouded in shadows or perfectly lit, depending on the shot. (00:03:40)
Character mistake: When Henry Fonda is led to his cell, shot in a prison in Queens, a real inmate yells "What'd they get ya for, Henry?"
Continuity mistake: After his meeting with Julia, Winston at home opens the drawer and in a close-up pulls the diary out from under a stack of papers which he lifted with his left hand. The angle changes, and his left hand is on the edge of the drawer, and not supporting the papers any more, nor any paper is visible. There's also a pen on the table that should have been visible before, but wasn't there. (00:36:25)
