Best fantasy movie easter eggs of all time
Easter egg: When you insert any of the 6 movie DVDs in the Star Wars saga, once the FBI screen pops up (red in Episodes I, II, IV, V, VI; and blue in Episode III), enter a number between 1 and 3 (and press Enter if needed). Once the Star Wars logo and the Episode number disappears, a menu with the planet that you chose (and not what the DVD randomly chooses) will load.
Easter egg: On the Main Menu, when Scooby-Doo is startled by the ghost and he drops the Scooby Snack in his mouth, highlight it and then press Enter. This will access a short featurette on how it rained on set, during filming. Also, on the Special Features' second page, hit left on your remote and the sign with "Zoinks" under it will light up, then hit Enter.
Easter egg: 2nd disc: Go into the Great Hall and choose "The Quest of Sir Cadogan". During the introduction to the challenge, between the part when you see Sir Cadogan sleeping (maybe) and when he gives flowers to a girl, hit the left arrow on your remote and you'll automatically go to the picture gallery (which you will also get to if you play the challenge and get the highest rank). You'll still have to play the challenge afterwards, though, unless if you hit Menu.
Easter egg: HIDDEN BONUS MATERIAL on the Special Extended DVD Version: There are two secrets on the discs containing the film, one on each disc. Instructions for both: go to the Scene Index on either disc, then scroll down to the LAST scene (either "The Council of Elrond" on Disc 1 or "Official Fan Club Credits" on Disc 2), then scroll down one more time. On the first DVD, a little ring will appear next to the line "new scene." Click Enter. This leads to an introduction by Peter Jackson and the MTV Movie Awards parody on the Council of Elrond (starring Jack Black and Sarah Michelle Gellar), which isn't suitable for children (and does not appear in the UK version because of the BBFC). On the second DVD, scene 48, click on the number 48 - on the right side of the screen - and the silhouettes of Barad Dur and Orthanc appear just underneath, click it. You'll see another introduction by Peter Jackson, and the Two Towers cinematic preview trailer: the one played in theatres after the Fellowship of the Ring, towards the end of its running period.
Easter egg: On the film disc (disc 1) of the Theatrical Version, in the language selection menu there is a THX logo somewhere. Highlight it using the arrows on your remote, then enter the number 1138 while you have it highlighted (may vary on different DVD players, on mine I have to push a little 10 button, then 1 1 3 8, which makes 1138). You will then be treated to a sequence of bloopers from the film.
Easter egg: From the main menu of the single disc DVD, highlight 'Play'. Then press right, and the arrow should turn blue. If you hit enter here, the door opens and Santa Claus appears. On disc 2, full screen version, highlight 'Play' in the main menu, then select right. The red arrow next to the chair turns green and Santa shows up when you press Enter/OK.
Easter egg: This is found on disc. 2 of the Platinum Edition DVD, in Backstage Disney in Treasures Untold: The Making of the Little Mermaid. Click to the left of Act I: Renaissance Men which reveals a fork (Dinglehopper). If you select this, you will see John Musker & Ron Clements drawing each other.Disney-Freak
Easter egg: On the second page of Special Features, with the cursor next to "Q&A With Hubble", press the left button. The word "WOOF." will appear at the far left of the screen and you will hear a dog bark. Press enter to see a short feature on the dog Liam Aiken received on the last day of shooting.Jeff Swanson
Easter egg: On Disc 2, go to the Chamber Challenge in Activities and the narrator says something about a secret passage. Well, at the start instead of clicking the center forward arrow, be quick and press 'LEFT' on your remote, then it reveals the secret passage. On the U.S. release press 'LEFT' and then press 'UP' and again it shows the secret passage, bypassing the questions.
Easter egg: Easter Egg on the Special Extended DVD: Put in the first movie DVD (The Two Towers Part 1), go to Select a Scene. Scroll all the way down past the last scene ("Of Herbs and Stewed Rabbit") and there should be a ring cursor beside "New Scene" and then click on it. It's Gollum's acceptance speech from the MTV Movie Awards. Because of the content, it is not appropriate for children. Please note that this easter egg is not found in the U.K. version.
Easter egg: Easter Egg on the 2-disc Special Edition Region 1 DVD:Go to Special Features, then Deleted Scenes. Place the cursor on "Features" at the bottom and then press Down once. A red Superman logo will appear below "Features" and "Menu." Now select the red logo and press Enter and you will see some funny outtakes of Kevin Spacey doing his "Wrong." scene.
Easter egg: On standard widescreen DVD, on the main menu. When the rats are scurrying from left to right, a rat will appear next to a pan on the far right. When that happens, you will be able to move to that pan and click on the link that is there (if the rat is not there, you will not be able to go there). There are two short pieces (alternate titles for the movie and how to pronounce Ratatouille).GrafSpee
Easter egg: On the Extras menu, you will see a list of extras, some thunder, and the close-up of a dragon. As soon as you get to the extras menu, immediately press left on the directional pad on your DVD remote. The dragon's eye is now highlighted like any other text. Click on the dragon's eye, and the mini-game, Save Kitana, will open. When you win the game, you will see a scene of Lui Kang defeating Baraka, Sheeva, and rescuing Kitana.
Easter egg: There are two on the Special Edition DVD. On either disk, scroll to the end of the chapter selection page and press down once more on the bottom one to highlight a hidden ring icon. Press enter to view: Disc 1, a gag interview with Dom Monaghan and Elijah Wood. Disc 2: the MTV movie awards spoof interview with Peter Jackson, Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughan.roboc
Easter egg: On the Special Edition, select any of the four features on the disk's main menu, then go to the special features menu and hit enter. Next, go to the bottom of the screen, down to where it says "More," and hit enter. On this second page, there should be a white angel picture of Elizabeth Hurley. Hit the right arrow key on the DVD remote. Now a little red devil should have appeared on Elizabeth Hurley's shoulder, which you must click on. This reveals a hidden wish of being a drug-using rock star that was once in the movie, but was edited out for the Big Mac and a large Coke wish, because it would have made the movie rated R instead of PG-13.
