Revealing mistake: When Herbie is being pulled from the truck at Crazy Dave's, Herbie goes into reverse and the camera does a closeup shot of one of the rear wheels reversing. If you look carefully, you can see an extra set of small wheels behind the tyre which are obviously propping the car up enough so that the cars proper wheels will only skid and not get any traction.
Revealing mistake: In the beginning of the dance scene, when Sam gives Carter her phone so he can set the alarm, the phone isn't even on when he is programming it.
Revealing mistake: When Stuart's dad is giving final instructions to Stuart as he's about to lower him down the drain, Stuart (and his bright yellow shirt) aren't reflected in the dad's glasses.
Revealing mistake: When Whiplash is in the cave and Dudley comes and checks it out, the cave falls in. You can see a black curtain fall down while the screen goes black.
Revealing mistake: At a certain point we see the arid, dry Santa Monica Mountains of Los Angeles in the upper left of the picture with a huge high-tension electrical tower at the summit. The film is set in 1912 in Iowa, a green, rainy state which is also completely flat, with no mountains. Then again, we see the arid, dry Santa Monica Mountains in the upper right. (00:08:27)
Revealing mistake: When the boys are racing away on their bicycles from the Feds, the stunt doubles for Elliott and his friends are obviously way too tall to be children.
Revealing mistake: When Calvin falls out of the tree, he lands on the ground on his back. This would at least knock the breath out of him, but he is not hurt at all.
Revealing mistake: In the flood scene, you can see six inch boards on all the doorways keeping the water from spilling into adjacent rooms. (00:28:23)
Revealing mistake: During the monsoon scene, everyone is on a table trying to climb on the chandelier. Peter has been turned into a monkey, and his face is covered in hair and has the characterists of a monkeys face, yet in shots when they are on the table, like when the crocodile snaps at them on the table, just before Alan lifts Peter onto the chandelier, you can see the plain face of his stunt double, with no monkey features! Robin William's and Bonnie Hunt's doubles are rather obvious in these same shots too. (01:17:20)
Revealing mistake: A boulder tumbles towards James Mason and his party though a cave. With all the smashing against the walls and floor of the cave, the boulder stays entirely intact. However, just before the boulder hits a wall with two tunnels while flying through the air, the boulder now shows two majors fractures that were unseen earlier. The fractures were added to the boulder to give it a more dramatic impact by it breaking up with one piece nearly striking James Mason. (00:55:50)
Revealing mistake: After Alex steps off the bus at the same corner as Camryn and Beth, some of the same extras keep walking past in quite a few of the following shots. Two examples are the woman wearing a striped top and black skirt, and the man wearing a plaid shirt and tan pants. (00:09:25)
Revealing mistake: When Belle exits her house, the reflection on the window by the door shows a rectangular flat roofed building, nothing to do with the old gable roof we see in further shoots. In the making-of we are revealed that the prop building is in fact rectangular and flat, with a green screen on top to allow for the CGI.
Revealing mistake: When Ralph returns to the penthouse after destroying Vanellope's kart, he goes out onto the balcony and we can see the corner of the 'OUT OF ORDER' sign reflected on the window to Ralph's left. The piece of tape is missing in the reflection.
Revealing mistake: In the opening scene, the little girl pulls the cake over to her with only a few fingers which is near impossible. When the camera angle shifts and she lets go of the cake, it still wiggles as if she's pulling on it, showing that it's being controlled from the other side, most likely by an off-camera crew member. Revealing mistake: Very obvious stunt double when Dennis Quaid's character falls off the forklift into the kiddie pool at the hardware store.
Revealing mistake: As Lady Tottington leaves Wallace's home, the ivy between the windows on the left suddenly changes a bit- a portion gets squashed flat (about 2 bricks down and to the left of the house address numbers) as the area gets a bit blurry. The modelers must have not noticed bumping it while working with the doll. (00:57:15)
Revealing mistake: After the jailbreak, a number of reaction shots for which the shot background is the villagers in the speeding wagon, not only do they not "bounce" with the wagon, they are not even animated.
Revealing mistake: When Ted Brookes slides onto the ice pond after falling down the hill, you can see that at first he slides onto an actual ice pond. In the next shot, you can see that the ice has changed and he is now on a fake ice pond when it starts to break.
Revealing mistake: After Miley lets a truckload of walnuts roll down the street, the British reporter is having a hard time keeping his balance. At one point, both feet just barely touch the ground and it is quite obvious that he was suspended on a cable during filming.
Revealing mistake: When the king's youngest daughter mounts the Polar Bear King the lack of effort reveals that she does this with the help of a cunningly placed stepladder. (00:25:35)
