Continuity mistake: After Howard's appearance on the TV show, when he and Andy get back to Mayberry and talk to Opie on the porch, both Andy's tie and Howard's bow tie have striped designs that are positioned differently once they walk into the house, which could only happen if they were retied. (00:15:00)
Continuity mistake: At the start, when Andy stops at Wally's station Gomer is telling Jason about his Trout bait, then someone pulls up behind Jason's car and they're bumper to bumper in the wideshot, but in the exterior shot facing Jason there's no car behind him, but that car is back again before he pulls away.
Visible crew/equipment: While Aunt Bee, Andy, Barney, and Gomer are on the porch talking about the band, just as Andy says, "We're talking about gettin' up a band concert by tonight," the chalk T-mark is visible on the floor by Andy's feet. (00:12:25)
Visible crew/equipment: While Andy and Barney are hiding behind the car, when Mrs. Lesh hits Jake in the stomach with her umbrella, we can see two curved chalk actor's marks and two chalk T-marks on the floor. (00:22:10)
Continuity mistake: When Harry hangs the sign on Floyd's shop it reads "For sale Harry Walker real estate," but in the closeup of the sign the word "by" suddenly appears and it reads "For sale by Harry Walker real estate", then it disappears. It looks as if it reappears in the wideshot when Howard stops to read the sign later. (00:01:15)
A Visit to Barney Fife - S7-E18
Continuity mistake: While Andy and Barney are sitting on the porch, Barney's clip-on striped bow tie is clipped on the opposite way (stripes flip) when Ma and her family get back from "shopping." (00:14:45)
Visible crew/equipment: At the start, just as Mr. Hampton walks into the office and pushes the door closed, we can see a crew member's hand reaching through the doorway to help close the door. (00:00:55)
Visible crew/equipment: After the squad car is hit from behind Andy rushes over to Goober, and a T-mark (it's a bit darker than the color of the dirt road) becomes visible on the ground (just as the woman gets out of her car) at the bottom of the screen, right behind Andy's feet. (00:01:25)
Aunt Bee's Crowning Glory - S7-E5
Visible crew/equipment: When Andy removes the mirror from the wall (for Aunt Bee), the reflection of a studio light is visible in the mirror just as Andy starts moving it. (00:18:40)
The Barbershop Quartet - S7-E3
Other mistake: The end credits list actor Burt Mustin as playing a character named "Jud", but while Andy and the rest are waiting for Howard to show up for practice, Andy, Wally, and Aunt Bee all use Burt Mustin's real name "Burt" instead of his character's name, "Jud." Then during the rest of the episode Andy still calls him "Burt" a few more times. (00:02:00)
Other mistake: The end credits list actor Burt Mustin as playing a character named "Jud", but after Howard's introduction to everyone in The Lodge, when Andy and Howard are saying goodbye to all the members, Andy says, "See ya, Burt" to actor Burt Mustin. Then at the start of the voting scene even the subtitles read "Burt" instead of "Jud." (00:09:15 - 00:12:55)
Continuity mistake: When Andy and Floyd stop by Wally's station, Flora's wearing a striped uniform shirt and there are a bunch of cars lined up waiting for service. Then later, when Goober gets back from vacation and shows up at the station, in the first shot of the station Flora's wearing the striped shirt and all the cars waiting for service are the same as the earlier shot, but in the closeups Flora's now wearing a solid color uniform shirt. (00:06:05 - 00:09:20)
The Gypsies - S6-E23
Continuity mistake: While Andy and the townsfolk are at the courthouse during the storm, when The Gypsies walk in the two men are wearing wet rain ponchos and the woman is wearing a striped serape, but then she's wearing a wet raincoat, and it switches yet again in following shots. (00:21:45)
The Legend of Barney Fife - S6-E18
Continuity mistake: At the start of the episode, while Barney's in Andy's kitchen he's wearing a shirt with large distinctive designs, but when he and Andy walk into the courthouse Barney's shirt has completely different designs (though it's the same type of shirt). (00:01:00 - 00:04:00)
The Taylors in Hollywood - S6-E8
Visible crew/equipment: After the studio's security guard tells Andy they're filming on stage 40, when it cuts to the Taylors walking onto the set we can see two chalk T-marks on the floor (one in front of Andy's feet). (00:13:00)
The Cannon - S6-E11
Visible crew/equipment: After Warren accidentally fires The Cannon, in the following closeup of Andy commenting that he shot a station wagon, the shadow of the moving boom and mic is visible at the lower left corner of the screen. (00:22:05)
Revealing mistake: When Andy arrives at the studio for the publicity shots, while he's speaking to Mr. Michaels note that behind them we can see the Taylors' Mayberry kitchen cabinet/counter and a wall with their distinctive gold/silver design wallpaper. (00:03:50)
The Taylors in Hollywood - S6-E8
Revealing mistake: When Andy, Aunt Bee, and Opie are visiting the studio set while the scene between fake Aunt Bee and fake Andy is being filmed in a fake Taylor living room, note that behind the real Taylors we can see bits of the interior of their Mayberry house scattered in the background offstage. Some things to look for include their living room's stone wall with the mantle, their two reddish chairs (one with the fringe at the bottom), and a wall with their distinctive gold/silver design wallpaper. It's particularly funny when Opie looks at the "fake" living room set and comments, "Is that our house? It sure looks different!" while we the viewers can see the "real" Taylor set behind him. (00:20:35)
Other mistake: While Andy and Helen are rearranging everything in the squad car's trunk to make it all fit, Helen picks up the large thermos and written on its bottom we see "Reggie personal." Reggie Smith was property master on set. (00:12:45)
Aunt Bee Learns to Drive - S6-E21
Continuity mistake: The car which Aunt Bee buys from Goober has a rearview mirror which repeatedly disappears and reappears between shots, throughout the episode.
Answer: In S3 x E11 Convicts-at-Large, there is a character named Big Maude Tyler, who is the leader of three female escaped convicts. Andy listens to the radio as the news announcer says that Big Maude's aliases include Clarice or Annabelle Tyler and also one amusingly named Ralph Henderson.
