The Andy Griffith Show mistake picture

Floyd the Gay Deceiver - S3-E9

Continuity mistake: At the start, when Floyd and Andy walk into the barbershop, in the exterior shot Floyd's white barber jacket is on a hanger hanging from the coat tree that has a finial at the top of its pole, but in the next interior shot that jacket is hanging directly on the coat tree's hook, the hanger has vanished, and that finial has disappeared as well.

The Bookie Barber - S2-E28

Visible crew/equipment: After Andy and Barney walk out of Floyd's shop, when Andy makes a crack about Barney's ears being uneven Andy walks offscreen, then Barney shouts at him as Andy's presumably already down the block, but in their reflection in the window behind them we can see that as soon as Andy walks offscreen in this closeup, he actually stops and leans over where we see the camera's located.

Class Reunion - S3-E19

Continuity mistake: When Andy and Barney are looking through the yearbook, Barny's middle name is Milton. But Barney says many times throughout the series that his name is Bernard P. Fife.

Opie's Ill-Gotten Gain - S4-E8

Continuity mistake: When Opie's surprised by the bike, his first closeup is a flipped shot - note the bell's on the wrong side of the handlebar, etc.

Andy and the New Mayor - S3-E3

Visible crew/equipment: While Jess is up in the tree, the new mayor is attacked so he also starts climbing up the tree, then in the shot of the bear rushing toward the camera we can see the animal trainer who's behind the tree, as he releases the bear.

Opie's Ill-Gotten Gain - S4-E8

Continuity mistake: Andy reads the inside cover of Barney's old schoolbook which has Barney's name "Bernard P. Fife" written out many times in it, but in two previous episodes Barney's middle name is either Oliver or Milton.

Opie Loves Helen - S5-E1

Revealing mistake: At the end, in the shots of the kids dancing in class, the width of the wall between the shelf/coat hooks and the perpendicular wall with the door has bizarrely increased by 1-2 feet, but that extra width is gone in previous and following shots. Presumably they needed extra space for all the kids to dance so they moved that left wall.

The Bank Job - S3-E13

Revealing mistake: During the holdup at the bank, while the bank robber's holding Asa's broken gun, when Andy motions to Asa to duck out of the way in the closeup we can see the two thin wires to the left and right pulling the gun apart.

The Andy Griffith Show mistake picture

Barney Mends a Broken Heart - S3-E6

Visible crew/equipment: While Andy and Barney are with Daphne and Skippy at the Tip-Top Cafe in Mount Pilot, when Daphne's boyfriend walks in we can see the actor's chalk T-mark on the floor.

Andy Forecloses - S1-E28

Visible crew/equipment: At the Scobey house, after Ben sits in the unstable chair and it breaks, when Andy and the Scobeys rush over to him we can see the two curved chalk actor's marks on the floor, where Ben had been standing moments before.

Goodbye, Sheriff Taylor - S5-E10

Continuity mistake: While Barney's trying to instruct the new deputy candidates, when he throws a tomato to Otis it splatters on his shirt, and a few things keep changing depending on the angle of the shot - the amount of tomato goo increases/changes position; the suspender's sliding adjuster changes height; the deputy badge changes position.

My Fair Ernest T. Bass - S4-E17

Revealing mistake: At the start, when Ernest T. throws the rock at Mrs. Wiley's window and it breaks, the area around the hole flutters in the breeze - it's obviously not a glass window used for the stunt.

A Date for Gomer - S4-E9

Continuity mistake: In this episode, during the scenes at Thelma Lou's house the front door is right beside a wall perpendicular to it, but in earlier and later episodes the front door is beside the dining room at the opposite side of the parlor.

The Rumor - S4-E29

Visible crew/equipment: Just as the first shot opens of Andy walking down the block we can see the moving reflection of a crew member wearing a short sleeve, button down shirt, who's presumably sitting on the camera dolly as it rolls along keeping pace with Andy.

The Darlings Are Coming - S3-E25

Visible crew/equipment: After Darlene tells her father that she just wants to look at the pretty man (Andy), when she gets back in the pickup truck we can see the reflection of the moving boom on the windshield.

The Andy Griffith Show mistake picture

Aunt Bee's Invisible Beau - S5-E27

Revealing mistake: When Clara and Aunt Bee are talking in the kitchen, in the closeups facing Aunt Bee we see the counter, the cabinet, and the wall, but what we don't see are the curtains, the window, or the windowsill, which all should be on that wall. The fake window wasn't placed on the set wall for Bee's closeup.

The Andy Griffith Show mistake picture

The Rumor - S4-E29

Continuity mistake: While Aunt Bee and the party guests are gathered in the parlor, when Gomer hoots like an owl in the shot facing him note Floyd's eyeglasses - black with thick straight temples, but in the shot from behind Gomer and all following shots Floyd's wearing different eyeglasses - lighter color with curved tips.

The Andy Griffith Show mistake picture

Family Visit - S5-E3

Visible crew/equipment: While Ollie's making up excuses to rush home, he and Nora are saying goodbye to Aunt Bee, and the reflection of the moving boom pole and mic are visible on the car's windshield.

The Andy Griffith Show mistake picture

Andy and Opie, Bachelors - S3-E4

Revealing mistake: After Andy and Opie choose between chicken and pot roast using a nickle, when Opie gives the nickle back to Andy the window over the sink is missing - the fake window wasn't put up on the set wall for this shot, but when the food burns the window and curtains are up there as usual.

The Andy Griffith Show mistake picture

Barney Gets His Man - S1-E30

Visible crew/equipment: While waiting for Barney to show up at the surprise party, Opie looks out the window and spots Barney, then when Aunt Bee and Thelma Lou take their places we can see both actors' marks on the floor - the chalk T-mark and the curved chalk mark.
