Dinner at Eight - S7-E17

New this week Visible crew/equipment: When Aunt Bee and Opie leave the house and get in the car, the reflection of crew and filming equipment can be seen on the surface of the car.

Opie's First Love - S8-E1

New this week Continuity mistake: When Opie and Arnold rush into the house and tell Andy and Aunt Bee about the party, in the shots facing the boys we can see the reflection in the mirror behind them, and there's a lamp atop the credenza, but in the shots facing Andy and Aunt Bee that lamp doesn't exist.

The Darling Fortune - S7-E6

New this week Revealing mistake: While Goober is up in the tree with the fake owl, when Andy and the Darlings leave the house they are standing on the porch, and after seeing the 'second omen' the Darlings leave the porch and head to their pickup truck, but what's funny is that we can see their reflections in the window behind Andy as they all walk off camera, turn around and just stand there, and we can still see those actors' reflections in the shots facing Andy and Aunt Bee even as the Darlings supposedly drive off.

Class Reunion - S3-E19

Continuity mistake: When Andy and Barney are looking through the yearbook, Barny's middle name is Milton. But Barney says many times throughout the series that his name is Bernard P. Fife.

Barney Comes to Mayberry - S7-E19

Continuity mistake: When Barney and Andy are at the class reunion dinner, there is a band playing, but the accordionist's fingers aren't in sync to the music.

A Black Day for Mayberry - S4-E7

Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the show, two men walk into the courthouse. (As a sidenote, one of the men is Rance Howard, which is Ronnie Howard's real dad). Barney is the only one there, as Andy is out. The two men sit down to wait for Andy. Rance Howard is not wearing a hat, and he is in a light-colored suit. When Opie walks through the door looking for Andy, you can see that Rance is not sitting there any more, and now it's a man with a dark suit and wearing a hat.

Goober Goes to an Auto Show - S8-E22

Factual error: Goober and the Taylors stop and get gas in Raleigh before heading back to Mayberry. As they are waiting, a Coors Brewing Company truck is seen driving past the service station. Coors Beer was not sold east of the Mississippi River until the mid-1980s.

Off to Hollywood - S6-E7

Revealing mistake: When the bus pulls up for the Taylor family to leave for Hollywood you can see behind the bus a California freeway with cars moving in both directions. I don't think that Mayberry had a freeway right outside town. The scene is fixed when they return in "Aunt Bee on TV." There has been a tree put there so the road wouldn't show.

Mayberry Goes Bankrupt - S2-E4

Continuity mistake: In establishing scenes throughout the first part of the episode, Andy is seen driving up to Meyers' home which seems to be located far from neighbors and on a dirt road. In the "renovation" scene and those following, Frank's home is located on a paved road with other homes nearby in the shot. Clearly a different set entirely.

The Pickle Story - S2-E11

Other mistake: Aunt Bee refers to losing the pickle contest 10 years in a row (which Clara corrects to 11, leading us to believe they have been in the same competition), but this is her 2nd year in Mayberry, having not seen Andy for years in her season 1 intro as the "new housekeeper", (or Opie - ever) in season 1.

Aunt Bee's Medicine Man - S3-E24

Continuity mistake: Andy and Barney are playing checkers near the end of the episode. Andy can be seen making 2 moves in a row, skipping Barney's move.

The Arrest of the Fun Girls - S5-E28

Character mistake: Barney states when the Fun Girls were in town before, in Season 4, Thelma Lou didn't speak to him for 10 days. That's not true, they made up the same day.

The Big House - S3-E32

Revealing mistake: The jailed criminals take the key and open the jail cell door. The problem is the dead bolt never moves with the key, showing the door was never locked to begin with.

Aunt Bee the Crusader - S4-E15

Revealing mistake: Toward the end of the show, the rooster Bo, is drunk. If you look close you can see the string pulling the roosters neck sideways.

Mayberry Goes Hollywood - S1-E13

Revealing mistake: When Andy is listening to the Hollywood producer talking about how he wants the town back the way it was before, over Andy's shoulder the "window" in one of the stores is blowing in the wind.

Opie's Ill-Gotten Gain - S4-E8

Continuity mistake: When Barney is "reciting" the preamble to the Constitution, he messes up his hair. When they show him in close-ups it is messed up, but when it goes back to him and Andy in the scene it is combed. It does that a couple of times.

Goober Takes a Car Apart - S5-E17

Factual error: Halfway through the show, Goober takes the motor out of the car and they start it up in the Sheriff's office. If you look at the direction of the fan, it would be blowing the air forward instead of towards the rear of the engine. It would be fighting the air coming through the radiator instead of pulling it.

Barney Hosts a Summit Meeting - S8-E21

Continuity mistake: In the scene where the meeting participants are in the kitchen, the Russian guy opens the icebox, does not close it, and sits at the table. When Aunt Bee comes in immediately thereafter, the door is closed. She opens it again and partially closes it; but in the next shot, it is fully open.

Season 1 generally

Other mistake: At the beginning of the series, Hope Summers' character is called Bertha Edwards. Later in the series she is Clara Johnson; still later she is Clara Edwards.

Hot Rod Otis - S4-E19

Continuity mistake: Otis is in the jail and can't sleep. He ask Andy for some water. Andy gets up, unlocks the door and then closes it again (clearly leaving the key in). He comes back a few seconds later and the key is gone and back on the wall.
