Frasier (1993)

Dark Side of the Moon - S7-E22

Corrected entry: Frasier lives in a high rise, apparently on the 19th floor (his is 1901). When Daphne throws the other tenant's laundry off the balcony, we hear the crash of cars below within a second or two (she had earlier explained to her therapist that she caused a car accident). In real life, of course, it would have taken longer for them to reach the ground.

Correction: There is no evidence to say exactly what happened when she threw the clothes off but it doesn't neccesarily reflect it reached the car. One of the drivers might have seen the clothes being thrown off, been distracted and crashed.

Demolition Man (1993)

Corrected entry: After fighting with Phoenix in the museum, Spartan says Phoenix is "3 times stronger than when he went in" but there was nothing in his rehab program for physical muscle enhancement, it was all skills and information.

Correction: Spartan's comments doesn't neccesarily reflect strength or muscle enhancement but the fact he is so much tougher to stop. Before Phoenix was frozen he was very intelligent and strong. Now he has become an expert at martial arts and other fighting techniques. Added to that he has now garnered a large range of information to help him avoid capture.

Corrected entry: As is said in all James Bond movies, Bond is a true Englishman, but when he and Dr. Jones are trying to defuse the pipeline bomb, at one point he says to Christmas "Faster". When he says this, notice how Brosnan goes back into his real Irish accent.

Correction: One word is not enough to determine an accurate change in accent.

Frasier (1993)

Motor Skills - S8-E11

Corrected entry: Roz acquires a Dalmatian puppy which is constantly referred to as a "he" even though it is a she. Roz even names it "Ariel" which Marty scoffs at as a girl's name. Later in the season the dog appears again, having grown quite a bit, but while it may not be the same dog, it is still a female, and is still referred to as "he".

Correction: Having numerous cats and dogs over the years I can tell you its very easy to mistake the animals gender at times simply because gender is not as big an issue with pets. A friend of mine had a female dog called Harry who looked more male. I still referred to the dog as a "he" many times despite it being a female dog.

Prison Break (2005)

Season 2 generally

Corrected entry: The rewards offered for the Fox River 8 are not proportionate, and do not make sense. I understand that Lincoln has the highest reward, but characters like Abruzzi and T-Bag should have had much higher rewards than the likes of Michael, C-Note, Tweener and Sucre.

Correction: Unless there is evidence to prove otherwise than it is simply the characters' decision. There is no law or rule in the judicial system that states what reward should be set for every individual. For Abruzzi and T-Bag it could be that FBI had more idea where they might headed (Abruzzi wanting to kill Fibernocci and T-Bag obsessed with his former girlfriend) and also because they were more dangerous perhaps more agents were pursuing as compared to the other 4 inmates.

Lummie

Actually, Michael's reward should also be higher than most (except maybe Lincoln and Abruzzi) since he's the mind behind the escape, so you can almost be sure, he knows where the others are hidden because he planned it. If they are on their own, their plan won't be as brilliant as his, so they would be easier to find. T-Bag shouldn't be that high, you just need to protect the girl.

American Beauty (1999)

Corrected entry: When Caroline and Buddy are caught at the drive-thru, it's not clear exactly what time it is, but given the brightness of the day (no long shadows), and her statement about being starving after the "workout we had this morning", it's probably no later than early afternoon. Then, we see them pulling into the parking lot of the motel, in full dark, and it's clear they haven't talked much, if at all, since the drive-thru incident - yet the full darkness would indicate it's been several hours later (even in winter when it gets dark at 4:30 p.m.) Sure, they could've been stuck in traffic, but not for that long, and if they were starving, no way would they have driven terribly far to Mr. Smiley's either.

Correction: The evidence you provided is all estimated and not backed by any solid evidence. We don't know what time it was only that Caroline's statement means that it was sometime in the afternoon. It could be any time in the afternoon and their route home the sun set. Even if it was very early in the day the camera doesn't follow them after they leave the restaurant and we don't know what happened. They might have gone and talked somewhere, taken a longer ride home, hit traffic etc.

Seinfeld (1990)

Correction: No it wouldn't. As long as you connect some form of power to the machine's electrical source it could run on a battery. Think of appliances like iPods, alarm clocks, and hand-held video games. They can run on electricity directly but unplug them from an electrical point and they just switch to battery power if available.

Pretty, Pretty Dresses - S3-E9

Corrected entry: In this episode Hank professes that when he set the Arlen High single season rushing record he needed blockers and Bill Dauterive blocked for him, however in many episodes before and after they proclaim Bill "the bulldozer" Dauterive to be Arlen Highs rushing record.

Correction: Bill was never Arlen's rushing record holder, he held Arlen's single season touchdown record. This was explained in the episode "Bills are Made to be Broken" that he held the touchdown record. It was also unlikely he would have held the record in any case, as he was a defensive linesman not a running back like Hank.

Corrected entry: Maria Bello says "Dateline" is doing an alcohol related story. Then she's asked "who is doing the report - (Sam) Donaldson or (Diane) Sawyer?" "Dateline" is on NBC, and those two reporters are on ABC.

Correction: Character mistake pure and simple.

The Truman Show (1998)

Corrected entry: Truman is so scared of water that he cannot even drive over a bridge without having a paralysing panic attack. But he and his friend have their long, deep and meaningful talk while sitting on the edge of an unfinished bridge - directly above the visible (and audible) water course over which the bridge is being built.

Correction: Like any mistake that relies on what a person could or couldn't do is generally more opinionated rather than fact. While Truman was afraid of water we don't know to what extent. When he had his panic attacks before driving over the bridge and catching the boat he knew he was going to have to go over water. This is different from sitting near water and having no intention of going over it or going near it. We also see from other instances that he had no trouble being near to water, such as his trips to the beach.

The Simpsons (1989)

Lisa the Iconoclast - S7-E16

Corrected entry: Lisa says that Jebediah Springfield is indeed Han Sprungfeld because there's no record of Jebediah Springfield before 1795. Yet in "Whacking Day", Bart mentions that there is a historical record of Jebediah Springfield serving in the Battle of Ticonderoga in 1777.

Correction: Thats essentially the point. Much of Jebediah's records at times seems to be generally more made up than fact, as evidenced in the film at the start of the show in which he managed to tame a wild buffalo with his bare hands! Yet concedes it was already tamed he merely shot it. While Bart's history book might claim to say he served in the Battle of Ticonderoga, Lisa's books and the statement she found in his fife contradicts that point. In her book it claimed that in 1780 he fought George Washington. After this he wrote his confession on the piece of the painting of Washington he ripped off and stole. Then he hid the confession in his fife. Essentially the statement found from the George Washington painting told the real truth and his silver tongue backed up the statement.

The Game (1997)

Corrected entry: At the end, Christine informs Nicholas that the machine guns shooting at them throughout the movie were shooting blanks. Yet the bullets actually did damage to several objects (ie: the windshield of the car).

Correction: Being how elaborate the set up was and to what lengths they went it could be conceived they used small explosive charges in certain places to make it seem as if they were being shot at.

Out of Sight (1998)

Corrected entry: When Karen calls Daniel from Adel's apartment after catching Churino, Daniel says two things that benefit the plot despite making no sense. He greets her by telling her he's been looking for her all day, and then after she asks if she could be on the task force if she brought in Churino, he tells her to go to the Adams Hotel, where Buddy and Jack were. What makes no sense is, if she was not on the task force yet, hence her calling Daniel to request to be on it, why was he trying to get in touch with her all day and why would he tell her to get down to the Adams Hotel to help the task force try to catch Jack and Buddy?

Correction: There isn't a mistake in that. Daniel might have been calling to see what she was up to, another assignment, it could have been about a crossword puzzle he couldn't figure out and only she knew the answer. As for the assignment what is exactly wrong with that? She wanted to be a part of the task force, he made her.

The Mask (1994)

Corrected entry: The closed caption does not follow the dialog correctly, when Stanley Ipkiss is told about the excessive repairs to his car. His reply is: "I have to have a car tonight" vs. [cc]: "I need a car tonight" (00:09:15)

turkman143

Correction: Closed captioning and subtitles frequently shorten statements or sentenances during shows and films. The statement hasn't made an error in the subtitle as it still conveys the character's intention.

Waterworld (1995)

Corrected entry: If Kevin Costner's character has gills, and can breathe under water, why would he have a device for someone else to breathe underwater? He very states that he is a loner, and does not travel any way but alone. I can see building one after he picks up his extra passengers, but beforehand doesn't make since.

Jazetopher

Correction: Not understanding a character's motivations or reasons is not a mistake. While he might have not needed there are numerous reasons why he might have kept it and there is no mistake in keeping it just because he might not need it.

Lummie

Correction: Before he gets to the metal island he is seen using the same bubble as a basket to put his treasure in. He might have been smart enough to know to turn it over.

Inside Man (2006)

Corrected entry: It's hard to believe that neither a single cop or anyone in the crowd noticed that the foreign "voices" coming from the wire tap was just a recording. It was a single voice, not a conversation, and it had the same pattern, tone, and sound quality (a slight echo) as most recorded speeches.

Correction: The police were more interested in finding out what the recording was saying. The robbers at this point hadn't given much away in details of their plan. Whether or not they believed it was a recording is irrelevant. The bug they had planted was picking up some foreign language that they could not understand and it might have had something to do with the robbery. It was only when the woman who helped with the translation did they realise the recording was all a hoax.

Inside Man (2006)

Corrected entry: It was said that only two women matched the description of the female suspect. Surely the police should have kept tabs on both those women and this should have led them to capture the entire gang when they come to pick up Clive Owen at the bank after a week.

Correction: Firstly it is unlikely that they kept 24 hour surveillance on both women just because they matched the description. The police were going primarily on the witness accounts in the bank and as shown with the masks and suits worn, it was going to be near impossible to say whether the description of the female suspect was accurate or not. Furthermore the audience knows that Clive Owen's character was involved NOT the police. Even if they followed her, all they would have seen was that some guy got into a car.

Hey Arnold! (1996)

Part-Time Friends / Bio Square - S2-E19

Corrected entry: Towards the end of "Bio Square," Arnold and Helga manage to escape drowning in the titular Square (from a haywire sink leak) by jumping onto her inflatable mattress. The two ants from an experiment by Arnold manage to escape, too, by jumping off a table and onto a floating, half-eaten potato. However, at the end of the episode, when Arnold and Helga are describing their adventure before their science class, Arnold says that the ants "climbed onto the leaf." Knowing how sharp Arnold is, it's unlikely that he mistook the potato for a leaf. This is a simple script error.

redbaron2000

Correction: Sharpness aside, Arnold is prone to making errors or mistakes. The two were about to drown and the seriousness of the situation might have mistaken him. Also at that point I don't believe there was anything to prove if he even knew the ants made it to safety so he might have believed they climbed onto a leaf. In any circumstance its at best a character mistake.
