Trivia: Interestingly, Klinger is seen in full standard uniform. Otherwise, for the next several seasons until he takes over as clerk, he almost strictly wears dresses. In real life, Jamie Farr phased out the dresses so his kids wouldn't be teased in school.

Trivia: This episode has a couple of nods to Sci-Fi movies. In the initial attack on Monument beach, the Omicronians destroy the White House the same as Independence Day. Later, Fry is wearing the same helmet as the Rebels in Star Wars, and the Planet Express ship goes by a turret that is copied from the Death Star's turrets.

Trivia: After Kirk leaves Sickbay, and after McCoy says one of his "What am I...?" questions (i.e., I'm a doctor, not a _______), he says, "If I jumped every time a light flashed around here, I'd end up talking to myself." Later, in Star Trek V, as he's watching Kirk climb the mountain, he says, to himself, "'You'll enjoy Shore Leave. You'll be able to relax'. You call this relaxing? I'm a nervous wreck. If I'm not careful, I'll end up talking to myself."

Trivia: Throughout the series, a number of times Fred mentions "Pluto water." It was a popular strongly laxative natural water product that was sold until 1971, when production and sales halted because lithium, one of the mineral salts, was declared a controlled substance. Sanford and Son debuted in 1972, so Fred couldn't have had this product throughout the series.

Trivia: When the outside night time activities were filmed (i.e., entering or exiting the Emergency entrance, et cetera), and it was at the back lot film location, it was during the day, and the cameras were fitted with "night lenses." This was a special filter that turned day time to an evening setting.

Trivia: In the five seasons of his involvement, Ivan Dixon of Staff Sergeant James (Ivan) "Kinch" Kinchloe, his nickname, Ivan, was used only once. Otherwise, he was usually called Kinch.

Trivia: Howard Caine, who was best known as Major Wolfgang Hochstetter, was born in Tennessee, was Jewish, and served in the United States Navy in WWII in the Pacific fighting the Japanese. He was fluent in 32 American and foreign dialects.

The Klink Commandos - S5-E3

Trivia: The idea was for the series was to always be winter, so that the episodes could be shown in any order, hence the reason there is always snow on the roofs and ground, and frost on the windows. In fact, the filming was mainly done in summer, with temperatures in the 90s, and the actors had to wear their coats, and act as if it were cold.
