Continuity mistake: The dead body of a girl is in the autopsy room. There is a closeup of her face on a TV monitor. Her hair is wet and tucked under her head and the v-shaped stitches on her torso are reddish in color. Next shot her hair is spread out and the stitches on her torso are blueish.
Continuity mistake: When Mrs. Baldwin shows up at Sid's office near the end of the episode, Sid is viewing his computer with his hand on his chin in thought. When he looks up, his hand is on the table top. (00:38:50)

Continuity mistake: When Danny talks to Lindsay in the lab, he folds his arms over his chest left over right. In the following shots, his arms are right over left, then back to left over right. (00:10:50)
Continuity mistake: When Stella and Linsday are checking a table in Rob Mayer's home, when Stella is about to move the table, she has two gloves in hers hands (not wearing them, just holding). In the next shot, she is just holding one glove. And when the shot changes again, she is instantly wearing gloves on both hands. (00:25:35)

Continuity mistake: When Flack, Lindsay, and Stella go to Kim Wey Imports, it's bright daylight out. But when Flack chases Wey out of the warehouse, the sky has suddenly become pitch black. They were only inside for a few minutes, so it shouldn't have been that dark. (00:25:05 - 00:26:30)
Continuity mistake: When they are cutting the tape from the woman found tied to a chair and shot, they cut the tape around her feet and remove then bag it, yet when they start cutting the tape on her hands a few seconds later the woman's feet are taped together again.
Continuity mistake: The first time Mac tests the cleaned up blood on the floor, it shows positive with Luminol. However in the flashback scene with Lindsay, the Luminol is not showing up.

Continuity mistake: When Mac chases Suspect X into the construction site, X takes cover behind a pillar and fires her gun at Mac with one hand. In the next shot she's suddenly out in the open, holding her gun with two hands. (00:37:55)
Chosen answer: Probably to broaden the scope of the show's plot and give the audience a chance to see the characters in a different setting, People act differently at home from the way they do at their workplace. By the ninth season, the characters would have become overly familiar and predictable. It gives the writers a chance to do something different with them.
