Factual error: In Blackadder's Christmas Carol, during the Elizabethan part of the 1988 Christmas special, Queen Elizabeth asks Edmund if he has any last words before she chops off his head and sticks it on the Christmas tree. Christmas trees weren't introduced to England at this time.

Blackadder: I remember Massingbird's most famous case - the Case of the Bloody Knife. A man was found next to a murdered body. He had the knife in his hand, thirteen witnesses had seen him stab the victim and when the police arrived he said 'I'm glad I killed the bastard.' Massingbird not only got him off, he got hom knighted in the New Year's Honours list, and the relatives of the victim had to pay to get the blood washed out of his jacket.
Trivia: The original footage of the famous final scene was very disappointing. The set was small, and the cast only charged forwards a small distance before unconvincingly falling over when "shot". The scene was saved in editing, slowing down the video and audio enormously, and fading to an empty shot of no-man's land, then the poppies. The final result has been described as one of television's most powerful endings.
