Fantastic Four: The Animated Series

Worlds Within Worlds - S2-E5

Plot hole: After Psycho-Man, disguised as Reed, lures Sue away from the outdoor tables of the cafe where she was dining with Alicia, Johnny and the real Reed walk up to Alicia a mere three seconds later and ask where Sue is. Reed and Johnny should have easily seen Psycho-Man impersonating Reed and walking away with Sue, because they approached Alicia from the street, it's not like they turned the corner out of some alley. The Mask of Doom: Part 3 - S1-E10

Factual error: When the Persians launch the boulder at the Greek ship, it falls short and lands in the ocean. The ensuing splash is far too small for the mass of the boulder and the velocity at which it landed in the water. (00:15:31)

The Mask of Doom: Part 3 - S1-E10

Other mistake: After Thing breaks the chains he, Reed and Johnny were bound to, Johnny's cufflinks simply slip off his hands. Breaking chains wouldn't magically cause the cufflinks to now be able to slip off a person's hands. And if Johnny was able to slip them off anyway, he wouldn't have needed to wait for Thing to break the chains to do so. (00:14:19)

Superskrull - S1-E7

Audio problem: When Johnny is saying "Ben sold our rights to MTV. We're going to be rock stars," his mouth movement is not in sync with the dialogue. (00:07:16)

Now Comes the Sub-Mariner - S1-E3

Other mistake: When the mutated octopus begins crawling out of the tank, the camera pans to the right, and you can see the animators drew parts of Reed and Johnny's legs and feet to resemble Thing, making Thing resemble a giant ball of rocks. (00:02:30)

Answer: Gleaned from the Internet: Much of the negative reaction was due to the poor, simplistic, and outdated quality of the animation where the characters moved stiffly and clumsily through scenes. There were also some obvious animation compositing gaffs. The animation colors were also criticized as being overly bright and cheery and out of character to the established story's darker tone. The broad humor of the first season was replaced by a more mature narrative between the characters.
