Continuity mistake: While explosions occur aboard the alien ship, when the landing party is ready to beam back, the tricorders worn by McCoy and Spock are missing, though when all are beamed back aboard the Enterprise, McCoy and Spock are wearing their tricorders as they should be. (00:12:45)

Other mistake: When showing Scotty on the bridge, some of the frames show more of his body than others. In those frames, you can see that he lacks legs.
Continuity mistake: When Uhura's rescue party is in the transporter, Chapel's uniform is blue. When they materialize on the planet, it's red for a moment, then blue.
