Continuity mistake: Near the start when Mike's pulling over, the car parks literally perfectly along the side of the road. Seconds later when camera shows him stepping out it's at least 12 inches away from the curb. (00:11:00)
Continuity mistake: At the end of the scene at the Air Force base, when Jimmy is about to snap the photo of the military members with "Fudge", the film students roll Fudge in this wheelchair over to pose by Fifi, the B-29. At this moment, they've just scrambled to get Fudge back in the chair with the movie camera on his lap, concealed by the plaid blanket. The blanket is in view as the boys roll Fudge over there. We then cut to Jimmy, crouching with a disposable camera given to him by the USAF captain. Cut back to the group posing, Jimmy says, "Smile!" and Fudge says, "Cheese!" In this brief moment, the blanket on Fudge's lap is suddenly gone, along with the camera. You can see Fudge seated in his costume, holding up his bottle of water, but no blanket, no camera. Cut back to Jimmy, shaking his head. Then cut back to the group posing, and the blanket is back in place on Fudge's lap. (00:30:45)
Continuity mistake: The Salamancas brothers burn Arturo's body inside his car. When the brothers leave, there is a scenic tree a short distance down the road from the burning car. It balances the shot. When the camera angle changes to a wide view, there are no trees anywhere near the car.
Continuity mistake: As Howard and Chuck are in a meeting about their lawyers' premiums going up, Chuck is spinning a pen around in his hand. He stop and lays it down as the woman tells them to not take it personally. The camera cuts to a different angle and suddenly he's got the pen spinning in his fingers once again. (00:10:43)
Continuity mistake: Mike is sitting in a diner as a waitress is walking up to him. The shot is from outside the window and shows the reflection of a mixed race couple walking across the street towards the window. When the shot changes to the waitress coming up and bringing him his drink, there is suddenly nobody in the street at all or around that could have been making that reflection. (00:31:20)
Continuity mistake: While James is arguing with Tuco in the desert about the twins the sun changes in several shots.
Continuity mistake: When Jimmy is talking outside the courthouse, pretending to be his secretary, he puts his case on his car roof. In the first shot the white aerial is visible in front of his case. Shortly afterwards it's hidden, either behind or on top of his case, without him touching anything.
Continuity mistake: When Victor gives the sixth drug loaf under Nacho and Arturo's insistence, the loaf's position changes in two different shots.
Sunk Costs - S3-E3
Continuity mistake: Mike sets a trap to taint a cartel's truck with drug residue. First, he inserts a bag of cocaine in a shoe, then throws the pair of shoes over a telephone wire. His plan is to shoot the hanging shoe so the cocaine powder pours out onto the truck as it passes under the wire. However, when he inserts the drugs it is in the right shoe, but later, it is the left shoe he shoots and has the powder in it. (00:29:30 - 00:38:00)
Continuity mistake: When James McGill returns from the toilet, Craig Kettleman is rubbing his hands. In the next shot he is holding a cup with the right hand and his left hand is hidden under his right arm. (00:25:05)
Continuity mistake: While talking to Marco, when the bartender asks them if they want something else, James McGill is holding a beer bottle in his right hand. In the next shot the bottle is in the center of the table. (00:20:00)
Continuity mistake: In the desert when Tuco and Nacho are interrogating Saul, the sun and sky change half a dozen times. When he is being cut free, the sun is to his left. The next shot it's overhead. The continuity gradually improves as the scene goes on.
Continuity mistake: In the desert, when Bolsa is interrogating Nacho, Nacho looks towards Gus. A shot of Gus is shown with a blue sky behind him, with a few clouds. It cuts back to Nacho and then back to Gus, where the sky behind him is cloudy. The change in the sky happens a few more times throughout the scene, going from clear blue to cloudy, then back to clear blue.
Continuity mistake: Jimmy buys three bowling balls in the second-hand shop and walks out with them in a small carry bag. He tosses three balls over the fence at Howard's car, but then later he is shown in his kitchen with Kim destroying one bowling ball in the same little satchel.
Continuity mistake: There is a shot when Howard's head hits the table after being shot by Lalo, facing both Jimmy and Kim. However, the next shot depicts Howard's body facing the door before falling and rolling over towards Jimmy and Kim. (00:49:18)
Continuity mistake: At the end of the episode when Howard is at Jimmy and Kim's apartment to talk with them, there's a bottle of wine on the table next to the couch, but when there's an overhead shot just after Lalo comes on stage and kills him, the bottle has disappeared without anyone having touched it.
Continuity mistake: When Betsy Ketelman storms out of Cliff's office after being rejected for representation, she leaves her purse on the couch. In the very next shot with her walking out the door, her purse is back on her shoulder. (00:27:00)
Continuity mistake: Hector goes behind the counter in Los Pollos Hermanos and helps himself to a drink. The cup is under a different dispenser (and therefore a different drink) each time the shot changes, but the audio of the dispensing and the cup being filled remains intact throughout.
Continuity mistake: In the scene after Jimmy/Saul and Mike in the desert with the seven mil, they are each sitting on one of the duffel bags of money at the gas station. Mike puts his big drink up to his head and his watch reads 6:35 but in the next shot it reads 3:00.
Continuity mistake: Jimmy gets ambushed. One gang member holds a gun close to Jimmy's face, but in the next shot the guy is way further away from him and not even visible in the shot when Jimmy gets splattered with blood.
Answer: It is my opinion that you should absolutely watch Breaking Bad first. If you did not know, Better Call Saul takes place before the events of Breaking Bad. At the time I am posting this, BCS is mid-way through season 5, with season 6 on the way perhaps in a year. So if you binge Better Call Saul now, you would not be able to "flow" right into Breaking Bad. To me, it's better to watch in the order that they came out. Breaking Bad was a phenomenal show, and now watching Better Call Saul, it is fun to watch the events unfold and start to lead up to what we saw in BB. Enjoy.
