Corrected entry: Webster mentions reading about Kryptonite in an interview with Superman. Why would Superman give away his weakness in an interview?
Correction: Except that's exactly what he does in the first film. He tells Lois he can't see through lead. We can speculate as to the 'why'; but the fact is, in these films, Superman canonically doesn't have a problem with his weaknesses being public knowledge.
