General questions

I've been wondering the name of this movie for years now and cannot figure it out, seeking help. A movie in the late 80's maybe early 90's about a young couple that get married and the mother in law hates his son's wife, I think they live next door or really close. They have a little kid and I think she worked at a school - the mother in law and brother in law drives to shoot and kill the daughter in law. Please help, I want to say a lifetime movie, but I searched and didn't find it.

Answer: That might be "Too Close to Home" with Judith Light as the murderous mother-in-law, a TV movie from 1997. Alternatively there is TV movie with that plot. The Perfect Mother. Tyne Daly is a controlling mother, convinces her son's to murder her daughter in law. Based on a true story.

General questions

Looking for a TV show/movie/short series, either staring Tyne Daly or Stockard Channing, about some girls in a boarding school, growing up together, one getting pregnant, one marrying a Saudi prince or something. Lots of backstabbing and drama.

Chosen answer: Sounds like Lace. A young actress gathers some women together, who all went to the same boarding school, and asks "Which one of you bitches is my mother." Brooke Adams is in it, as well as Phoebe Cates.

General questions

I'm looking for the name of a movie about a businessman who had a mistress with a child and a family that didn't know about them. He died unexpectedly. Probably a made for TV movie from the 1980s. I was watching it late one night and missed the ending. always wondered how it ended. Thank you.

Answer: This could be "Double Standard," about a prominent judge who had a wife and family, but kept a mistress and 7 kids in another city. Robert Foxworth played the judge, Pamela Bellwood played his wife, and Michele Green played the mistress. The mistress got pregnant while she was a teen, and for a while the judge and his wife raised that baby, but then he gave her back to the mistress, telling his wife that the adoption was challenged. The wife found out when the girl she'd raised showed up at her door. The truth came out when one of the kids was hurt somehow. I think it's based on a true story.
