Trivia: This film has an unofficial short film sequel called "Dirty Laundry," which sees Thomas Jane reprising the role of Frank Castle and is significantly more brutal in its violence than this film.

Trivia: Thomas Jane dyed his blonde hair black in order to play The Punisher, and then, ironically, had to wear a blonde wig for the film's opening scene.

Trivia: Professional wrestler Kevin Nash, who portrays the Russian, had long hair for several years prior to making this film. At the time he was working for WWE, and he engaged in a mini feud with Chris Jericho, which culminated in the two competing in a hair versus hair match, with the loser having their long locks cut off by the victor. Nash tipped off that he would lose the match prior to the start by having his brunette hair already bleached blonde to match the Russian's look.

Trivia: In the years following its release, the specific skull logo used in this film had been co-opted by Blue Lives Matter advocates and American far-right conservatives, including some of the Capitol insurrectionists of January 6th. Punisher co-creator Gerry Conway and Jon Bernthal - who would later portray the Punisher in the Netflix series - have criticized these groups for misunderstanding and appropriating the character. Punisher #13, which was released in July 2019, even had a scene that depicted the Punisher beating up and admonishing cops who idolized him. Daredevil: Born Again in 2025 did the same.

Stupidity: During the final shootout in Saint's club, Lincoln (the long-haired hitman) sneaks up on the Punisher and fires at his chest with a shotgun at point-blank range, which does not harm the Punisher because of his body armor. Even though Lincoln could see that the Punisher was wearing body armor, he takes another point-blank shot at his chest to no effect when he had a clear head shot.

Revealing mistake: After The Russian smashes The Punisher's refrigerator door against his head a couple times, he shoves The Punisher to the floor and pushes the refrigerator door shut, but the refrigerator door suddenly and completely stops moving midway before closing, revealing the door to have a stopper built in so as to not actually hit the actor in the head with it (acknowledged by the director in the film's commentary track).
Answer: Heavy Spoilers break down of this film that Frank in this scene is in disguise as Otto Krieg. And supposedly is able to speak German, Russian, and Arabic. So doing some research and getting Chat GPT to help find the answer, there isn't anything from Russian or Arabic that sounds like "dinga hoash." However in German it is very close to "Dinge hast," which would roughly translate to "you have things." So it would seem basically he was saying "Do you got the stuff?" from what I can gather.

Thanks. I've been meaning to watch this scene with a translator app on my phone to see if it would recognise it, but I just never remembered to.

So I finally pulled up the clip on YouTube and turned the subtitles on. It says in this part that they are speaking Russian. This seems to make sense, as the crime boss's name is Yuri Astrov, and his accent sounds Russian. Unfortunately, the translator app on my phone can't pick up what they are saying, so I think I will have to look up a sub-Reddit for people who speak Russian and ask for their assistance.

Update: A Redditor informed me that the characters are essentially speaking broken Russian, and the translations are roughly "Whatcha doing?", "money good," and "okay." "Money good" translated into Russian is "den'gi khoroshiye."

Huh, interesting.
