Captain Oveur looks down at his food, you can see the filmer's legs, because Captain Oveur is wearing white pants, and it can't be an armrest thing because its wrinkled and it moves. (00:41:25)
Correction: That appears to be Capt. Oveur's arm (he's wearing a long-sleeved white shirt).

Correction: This was a deliberate joke. Ice cream cones look like microphones. This is even pointed out during the movie on the DVD'S trivia track feature.

Correction: There are three seats on one side and two on the other. Also, there is more than one area of seats (first class, coach, etc), and the number of rows vary between them.
Correction: If you watch the scene, you see he was in line the whole time.
