Factual error: During the sleepover in the tent Dennis gives the girls M&Ms to snack on. If you look closely you can see one of the girls eating a blue M&M. These didn't hit the market until around 1995, a full 7 years after this movie takes place.

Perhaps the last genuinely good entry in the popular "Paranormal Activity" franchise, "Paranormal Activity 3" ratchets up the fear-factor with this eerie prequel story that boasts some of the best jumps and most ghoulish atmosphere of the bunch! It also successfully expands the mythology of the series even more, giving us more answers to the riddle... while also providing more questions to be answered in the future. I'd give it a good 4 out of 5.
This movie personifies why the found footage genre is so stupid. Just to give an example, there's a scene where the main character is literally running for his life from a coven of witches, but he makes sure to have his camera handy and recording the whole time, survival instincts be damned.
