Maura and Alex are involved in a car crash in which Alex is fatally thrown through a windshield into a store front window. He is discovered to be a perfect match for Annie. Ondine is actually a drug mule being chased by her pusher Vladic and his partner Kettle. Taking Annie hostage they force Ondine and Syracuse to sail to the spot the drugs are stashed. In the struggle Vladic drowns while Kettle is caught. In order to keep Ondine from being deported, Syracuse marries her.
