Audio problem: When Dianne is trying to seduce Bob early in the film, we hear her voice say, "You won't f*k me and I always have to drive", but her lips are saying something completely different. (00:18:35)

Factual error: The motel's billboard advertised HBO, which did not exist in 1971 when the movie was set.

Factual error: In the final flashback scene, which was no later than 1971 because Nadine was still alive, the Ford van is a distinctive style not introduced until 1975.

Factual error: The movie is set in 1971, but a fire extinguisher with modern pictorial labels can be seen when the detective is dusting for fingerprints in the drugstore.

Continuity mistake: After the quick close-up when Bob gets in the truck on the logging road, the clouds behind him change drastically.

Visible crew/equipment: Just before the first robbery, as Bob approaches the water fountain, the camera crew is reflected in the storefront window as they push the camera dolly.

Factual error: When Bob is looking for a room downtown, he walks past a trash can with a modern plastic cover that was not available in 1971.

Bob: You just put a 30 day hex on us, that's what you did. Our luck just flew out the window for the next thirty days.

Trivia: There is a scene where we get a look at the neighborhood around Bob's house. We see an elderly lady sweeping her front porch, glancing suspiciously at Bob. That lady is Ruthie, and she owned the house on North Greenwich Avenue used for most of the interior shots. The porch she is sweeping is at the house across the street from hers.
