American Gangster

Factual error: The movie takes place in the late 1960s/early 1970s, but during Richie's pursuit of the Bronco, trains of R142 subway cars, not introduced until 2000, can be seen in the background. (01:11:15)

Factual error: In the scene where Frank Lucas drives to meet Nicky Barnes, a 2002 Lincoln town car as well as an NYPD traffic cop redirecting traffic are visible. (01:44:25 - 01:45:00)

Meron Päron

Factual error: A few moments after the 20% rent deal for $1 in the cafe you can see a 747-400 (or later) in the sky, the winglets identify it as such. The 747-400 had its maiden flight in April 1988. That scene plays in 1968.

Continuity mistake: In the opening scene, just after the man is set afire he falls to the ground. Frank shoots him and while firing his weapon jams. A casing is stuck in the ejection port (called a stovepipe when it happens). After the round sticks he continues to pull the trigger and the weapon continues to fire.
