Death Proof

Continuity mistake: The shape and width of the scar on Stuntman Mike's face slightly varies between the scenes (from thin in the shot where he is pouring some eye drops into his eyes, to almost invisible during the scene at the parking lot in front of the shop in Lebanon, Tennessee, and wide during the final rush).

Suggested correction: This is untrue. The movie is out of sequence, like the reels were put together wrong in an old Grindhouse Theater. The car also changes when his scar is different if you pay attention. This whole movie also takes place in the wrong order of the double feature according to the storyline. This was NOT a mistake but done on purpose and slides to this in the making of book.

Continuity mistake: When Stuntman Mike is eating and talking to the blonde girl in the bar, he is holding a glass of club soda. When the shot reverses, he is wiping his hands, then when the shot returns, he is holding the club soda again.

Continuity mistake: The damage on the white Dodge Challenger varies between the shots. The most obvious is the right side of the car. We can see the whole right side is scratched (in the shot, where Mike is pushing Dodge off the road for a while and it makes 360°). But only a few moments later it looks like brand new (in the shot where Abby ask him to leave them alone). Then it is scratched again (in the shot where Mike says that Zoe would fly), nice again (in the shot where Zoe gets in with the metal rod) and to the end of the chase scratched again. Continuity mistake: The Challenger doesn't have a roll bar in the beginning, but the stunt car they use during the chase scene does.

Continuity mistake: During the final chase scene, as Stuntman Mike started for a while to dab the girls' car, in a scene the shadows of the cars change size between one shot and another.

Continuity mistake: On the drive to Guero's Taco Place, they are shown driving north on South Congress with Homeslice pizza in the background, even though Gueros is directly in front of Homeslice in Austin, and they keep driving right past it. (00:10:25)

Continuity mistake: When Nate and Butterfly are speaking on the porch in front of the bar and grill, the "bright red umbrella" he has is one of the large full size ones. When they return inside to join the rest of the group, when Butterfly says she had to get something from the car, the umbrella that Nate is holding is a smaller one. (00:21:20 - 00:24:40)

Question: In the car racing scene between Stuntman Mike, Kim, Zoe, and Abby, I am confused as to why the car chase lasted so long. Couldn't Kim have simply slowed down gradually and shot Stuntman Mike? I mean, we hear her in an earlier scene talking about her gun and we see her shoot him after stopping. Why keep driving fast with your friend in danger and mess up the car that isn't yours?

Chosen answer: Because there wouldn't be a car chase if she stopped. It's all part of the fun.
