Continuity mistake: In the opening scene where Alex's partner is in the car with the bad guy, when she pulls her gun and he hits the brakes sending her into the dash she is not wearing a seat belt. Immediately after, when the car goes over the side of the dam, the shot looking down on her shows her with a seatbelt on, the reason she didn't fly from the vehicle. (00:04:10)
Suggested correction: She's wearing a seat belt at 00:03:50 when he's trying to get some top from her. He's pulling on her head and that's when he finds the Bug in her ear. And you can see she's wearing a seat from 3 mins to the time she's hanging from the bridge in the car. 00:03:50-00:04:11.
Suggested correction: I just rewatched - she is wearing her seatbelt when he slams on the brakes, and she hits her head.
Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the film when Freeman's partner shoots the guy in the Corvette and the car starts flipping, the right front tyre is shown coming off the car and tumbles in the air several times, but when the car is finally getting tangled in the guard rails, it shows the car with still 4 tyres on. (00:04:15)
Continuity mistake: Morgan Freeman shouts to the agent in the car "Don't move! Stay where you are." She is looking at her bloodied hand in front of her face as she slowly turns around, but in the next shot the hand is gone. (00:04:35)
Continuity mistake: Cross screams Tracie's name as the cables give way and she begins to fall to her death. He is holding onto a large metal rod, but in the next shot he is holding the smaller branching part of the same guardrail. (00:04:55)
Continuity mistake: The first time we see her, Jezzie is talking to Megan. She is holding her clipboard with the hand placed underneath it or above it depending on the angle. (00:05:40)
Continuity mistake: Soneji tells Megan "Come to my office"; in that shot you can see a teacher walking down the corridor towards the camera, but she had already reached a closer point by the security agent in the previous (when Soneji was blowing his nose). (00:08:00)
Continuity mistake: In the close-up when she falls dead on the floor, the cable used to strangle the teacher is under her head. When a few seconds later Soneji is shown opening the panel of fake computers, she is lying dead with the cable in a big loop in front of her face. (00:10:05)
Continuity mistake: After Jezzie and the principal have popped by the classroom finding it empty, Soneji is pushing the cart outside. Behind him, a couple of kids walking from left to right are walking in the path two guys walking in opposite direction, and they are ahead. But in the close-up on Michael Wincott, the two have crossed the other pair (those walking in the same direction as Soneji) walking well ahead of the others. (00:10:50)
Continuity mistake: The principal is trying to open the door of Soneji's office, but she can't. She is lowering the hand with the key and turning as she is told to "Stand back", but when Jezzie pulls out of the gun she is still hunched over with her hand on the key in the keyhole. (00:11:20)
Continuity mistake: Jezzie kicks the door open and in the close-up we see the strike plate and a strip of wood wave in an ample motion, broken. When she is walking into the room, door still opening, the doorframe is completely still, no metal or wood still shaking. (00:11:30)
Continuity mistake: Cross is making a model ship. Vickie makes a joke about being "ship-shape"; at cut, she has in her mouth a spoon she did not initially have. (00:12:30)
Continuity mistake: When Morgan Freeman is talking on the phone with the kidnapper, he says (referring to Megan), "Do you have trouble saying her name?" Two minutes further into the movie, in the car, when he plays back the tape of the conversation, he is heard to say "Do you have trouble saying THE name?" (00:16:25)
Continuity mistake: To enter the Rose residence with the boot courtesy of Soneji, Cross shows the Fed at the door his badge with his left hand, that becomes the right at the cut. (00:18:45)
Continuity mistake: Cross tells the agent at the gates "I've been invited", and the man opens the door pulling it by the handle, which becomes the top of the door at the cut. (00:18:55)
Continuity mistake: Alex Cross encounters his old friend from the FBI, Kyle Craig. He briefly shows him the pieces of evidence; check out of the strap on the recorder; it is dangling in its length at first, and it is up entangled in Cross' fingers in the reverse. And Craig is holding the bagged boot in a different way (the hand is turned the opposite direction) in the two shots. (00:19:10)
Continuity mistake: Cross is discussing who is in charge with Kyle, who just handed the evidence to an agent. In the same shot you can see the fed that gets in the background between them. At the cut, he's turned around facing towards the right (of the screen) while he was turned towards the left in the previous shot. And when they walk away, he has now his back turned to them entirely. (00:19:30)
Continuity mistake: The first time that Cross spots Jezzie Flanigan, he is holding the Soneji picture in front of him, chest-height. Reverse shot and he is holding the position, but with the picture belly-high. (00:19:45)
Continuity mistake: After the scene with the senator's wife sticking with Cross after the attempt to undermine him, Megan wakes up. Between the actual shot of her and the camera feed the sheets are touching the ground in a different way, and quite evidently the shadows cast in the scene are completely different. (00:24:00)
Continuity mistake: Megan takes Soneji's cup with her left hand, but drinks in the reverse shot with her right. (00:26:05)
Continuity mistake: When they are in the classroom and the lady is on Megan's computer and says to Alex to come there and look, he is in front of the teacher's desk but when it pans back to Alex it shows him walking around the back of the teacher's desk and down the far side of the room. Why not just walk down the main isle where he was at? (00:31:30)
