Visible crew/equipment: During the final attack after Carol falls on the floor in a hallway in the Pentagon there's a shot of a crowd running towards the camera. The woman in the front has the shadow of the boom mike right on her forehead as she comes close to the camera screaming bloody murder. (01:13:25)

????

Visible crew/equipment: As the saucer lands on the White House lawn a truck with the magnetic interference unit on it pulls up and you can see the reflection of the crew in the shiny driver's side door. (01:15:35)

Deliberate mistake: As the saucer lands on the White House lawn the aliens walk out and fire on some soldiers, killing them. A few shots later we see them walking backwards into their spaceship as the film is obviously run backwards. (01:16:25)

Deliberate mistake: The aliens fire on a bell tower with a clock on it. In the next shot a different building blows up. (01:17:15)

Continuity mistake: Carol and Dr. Marvin stand in the front of the Supreme Court Building as the aliens destroy it. As they cut away to the long shots of the front of the building they're not there but then in the close-ups they are. (01:19:05)

????

Continuity mistake: One of the three trucks used in the movie with the magnetic interference units on them has a distinctive kink in it's dish, and we see this truck destroyed by the aliens. Several shots later when the battle is over this truck is back again. (01:19:05 - 01:20:55)

????

Visible crew/equipment: A soldier on the truck with a magnetic interference unit on it says, "Dr. Marvin, Dr. Marvin, we've made contact with GHQ". The crew can be seen filming across the street in the reflection in the truck. (01:19:45)

????

Plot hole: After being denied permission to contact the aliens by himself, Dr. Marvin returns to his hotel and calls them up on the radio anyway and arranges to meet, despite not being allowed to leave the hotel. His wife says she overheard him say he's under orders not to leave and begs him to call someone instead: "Call Huglin". She shouldn't know who Huglin is because Huglin was only assigned to guard them as Marvin was being denied permission to contact the aliens.

Continuity mistake: At sky hook the soldiers pull up in a jeep and jump out carrying M1 carbines. In the next shot when they lay on the ground to fire at the aliens they are armed with M1 Garands.

Dr. Russell Marvin: Both Carol and I are subject to the same atmospheric disturbances that may have affected other observers, but there is a qualitative difference, when you're a scientist.
