Corrected entry: When Captain Lewis is in the shower - where Judy put paint in the shower - she looks at herself in the mirror and screams. But she looks in the mirror from a very narrow angle - from the side. Consequently she wouldn't be able to see her own face - but the wall or the window. You have to look in a mirror at close to a straight angle in order to see yourself.

Correction: The mirror was facing towards her - the door was open.

Corrected entry: The length of Private Benjamin's basic training is incorrect. It is mentioned by both Capt. Lewis and Col. Thornbush as six weeks. US Army basic training has always been eight weeks.

Correction: Sorry, that's wrong - in 1977 I spent exactly TWO WEEKS in basic training at Ft. McClellan, AL in the US Army's Civil Acquired Skills Program (CASP>) Those joining my unit after CASP was discontinued spent six weeks.

Correction: True, but they are still addressed as 'private'.

Not true. You have and wear your rank; I joined as a Specialist. Regardless, most DS still refer to all Soldiers as "Privates" even if they are E4s.

Corrected entry: Judy joins the "Thornbirds" military regulations forbid assigning female service members, (Jessica Lynch not withstanding) to forward deployed combat arms units I.E the "Thornbirds." No female has ever been assigned to an airborne infantry unit at the platoon level.

Correction: When it is announced that she is a Thornbird, she even remarks that there aren't any women Thornbirds. Her friend replies "until now."

Continuity mistake: On her first day in basic, Judy is made to clean all the toilets in the latrine. There is a shot of her leaving the last stall and she is barefoot carrying her shoes. The next shot is outside the latrine and she can be seen wearing red rubber boots that almost reach her knees.
