Factual error: After the first victim they claim to have found a shell with 'Megan Turner' on it. That's not possible as we see Ron Silver fire at the victim and immediatley run away. If it had been an automatic then the gun would eject the shell, but it's a revolver, which doesn't eject shells.

Revealing mistake: The scene where Eugene Hunt is loading his weapon in the bathroom there is a very clear shot of him loading rounds and the primers on every round are dented. Indicating that the round has already been fired.

Continuity mistake: After Megan shoots the thief out of the window, she walks up to look out of it, and we can see from the reflections that the window as repaired itself.

Factual error: A murder is committed in another room of a house with a .44 Magnum (a Smith & Wesson Model 29, actually, like Dirty Harry's), and no one in the house hears it because it's wrapped in a towel?!?!

Plot hole: Megan is suspended because the police were not able to find the gun the robber had (stolen from Eugene at the scene) and believed that she had killed an unarmed man. This is very unrealistic because surely they would have interviewed all of the hostages/witnesses at the robbery and each would have easily confirmed that the robber had a gun, and possibly that Eugene might have been missing right after the incident.

Plot hole: After Meaghan's best friend was shot why wasn't the bullet matched to confirm the shooter? No way would she have not heard a gunshot 10 feet away in the bathroom of her apartment even with towel around it. No rookie would be given a temporary detective badge after a shooting.

Character mistake: Why would the rich witness be at the supermarket himself and using a taxi cab?

Factual error: There is absolutely no way a rookie patrolman could become a detective overnight. Total fiction.

Other mistake: When Meghan Turner is riding on patrol with her partner, her first night on the job, her partner tells her to pull over to go inside a mini mart so he can take a leak. The time frame he was in the restroom, from the time she stopped a robbery, does not add up. Unless her partner was in the restroom emptying his bowels or reading a magazine, he should have come out of the restroom quickly to join his partner to foil a robbery. He was gone over 20-something minutes to take a leak?

Other mistake: NYPD probably has several thousand detectives throughout all five of its boroughs. I seriously doubt that Nick would have been the lead detective on a murder accusation involving Megan. NYC precincts employ several hundred officers, so the chances of him working a murder case involving her would be slim to none unless the murder took place within his precinct's jurisdiction.

Factual error: Megan Turner asks if there are any other people named "Megan Turner" in New York when she is being interrogated about the bullet on her name and one of the policeman says that they have found only other one Megan Turner in New York. This is beyond laughable. There would be multiple people who are named "Megan Turner" in a city like New York.

Eugene Hunt: Death is the best kick of all. That's why they save it for last.
