Julie and Curt are recaptured by the military. Curt then discovers that Riverman (who had been killed by Julie) has been turned into a Zombie/Machine super-soldier. He tries to free Julie, but ends up freeing all the zombies. While he and Julie are trying to escape, Curt is bitten on the arm by a zombie. Realising that he is doomed to become a zombie, Curt and Julie commit suicide by jumping into a furnace.
